One tip I could give for beginners is to climb overhang. New climbers confuse overhang to climbing with bad technique even tho efficient overhang/roof climbing is very, very technical. And nothing gets you more stronger than climbing overhang. I'd go even as far as saying the whole "v5 plateu" is only for people who climb merely slabs/vertical wall (and no, I don't suggest to stop climbing them, it's also important). And a very easy way to measure if you are climbing hard enough for your own level, if you unintentionally cut feet on overhang/roof and still manage to climb the route, it was not the hardest route you can climb.

Awesome video. Great advice unfortunately I am autistic and climb alone but I do hope over time my confidence allows me to ask to climb with others sometimes. Thanks for the awesome video 🫶

Climbing is all about belief. Just like Neo doing his first training jump in the Matrix, his belief faltered and so he fell. If youre a beginner, go straight for the V12. Dont even pay to get in. Just beeline in and climb it. Victorious!

These are really great tips! I had my first climbing session and was able to do v3, which doesn’t really mean anything because I don’t know much about technique. My friend got over excited and ended up gifting me with a really nice pair of moderate shoes! I am worried about ruining them since I’m new, should I keep using rentals or should I practice with the new shoes?

Great video but the football analogy doesn't make sense, yes you need to kick the ball in the goal consistently but there's eleven people with their own free will trying to stop you from doing that. Like if the holds had their own consciousnesses and were moving around trying to make it harder for you to climb.

What if I can't afford equipment and I only climb outdoors? I live in Florida and I go to beaches that have rows of imported boulders and I climb there.

Haha im new to climbing and the first intention i had for bouldering is to intentionally try to get used to falling.
