If your key fobs aren’t working try pulling up the little pins where the battery goes carefully. Mine were not getting a firm connection to the battery and would not program

My daughter's key was getting funky and you had to really fiddle with it to get it to turn. She lent it to my other daughter who got frustrated and abused it and now not only does is it really difficult to get the key to slide in and out z but absolutely not turn. Ideas?

Thanks you, worked for my 07 ranger. Just have to remember to not pit your foot on the break while doing it, took me a few tries to figure that out lol.

food for thought--- before u add back the cover over the heater core replacement - reattached up heater core hoses and tighten the clamps down and they refill with loss coolant due to leaking and such - then run the engine and heater/ac to make sure no leaks are coming from new core anywhere - after that you put the cover over core and glove box back on

This might be a dumb question but can I hook up a portable battery charger directly to the battery cables that come from the car (w/no car battery) and test things out that way?

URGENT! Does your car have an amp under the driver seat? Mine does and I can’t figure out what color the power wire for the amp is. I think it’s pink and white striped. If you have any info to share it would be great. Thanks.

What's the bar that goes over the differential at 0:58? My 1990 F150 doesn't have this. Wondering if the PO removed it.

For 2005 ford focus, you only have to turn the key four times. However, your car has to be unlocked and you have to fasten your seatbelt and NOT push the brakes. In the first 10 seconds, you push buttons on each fob that you want to work with your car, and in the 8 seconds after that you push buttons on each fob again to program them. SEATBELT ON BRAKE OFF basically. oh, and you do have to program all of your fobs at once (I think). my first fob stopped working after I programed the second one, and I had to do it all again with both fobs.

If you are in the upper-midwest, just know that the process for this is the same.... except you'll need to spray penetrating on litterally everything the day before you attempt this. You will also need a torch, a cutoff wheel, and 4 sticks of dynamite. Buy all the mounting hardware beforehand... you will not be able to reuse anything. Just go into it knowing everything will suck and be stuck and impossible.

OMG!!! I bought the whole ignition assembly and had counted on spending a couple hours under the dash doing nuts and bolts and wire connections. Did not realize I could just replace the cylinder!! Took six minutes from start to finish, including removing and replacing trim!! Niiiiice!!! Steven's Garage, you rock!!
