You earned my subscribe and like. Thankyou for pointing out how small the glued screen size is. For a while I think that this might be a cheaper, lighter, and a much better AR device than Meta quest 3, but it looks like it's not. It might be better with the companion Beam device but it won't be cheap anymore and is still not good enough for it's price atleast for me. A great device really but the price for it would be too much for me. Thankyou :)

Before getting the glasses, I watched this video, and I had concerns, but now I've come back to comment. I encountered a screen twice the size of the 55-inch TV in my living room. If you don't know how to compare just don't!

Truly honest review on these Nreal/Xreal glasses, unlike most YT tech reviewers who only loudly praise these “AR” glasses for media viewing without telling their restrictions (e.g. Can't view >480P with their Beam controller (extra US$129), No go for 360° clips becoz they locked up the 3DOF IMU sensor reading and restricted users with their Crappy Nebula software, etc) AND the *hardship in actually using Xreal glasses* . *Honesty should be valued more in tech reviews.*

I agree, it’s a great start from Nreal however I’d wait another 3years for the technology to be completely worthwhile. Great review and it’s what I expected from this technology.

*UPDATED REVIEW* just some updates to my negative points since they have been addressed by Nreal: *Windows Nebula App* is out now. It works well, being able to have the screen fixed in place is really a game changer, you can move the position/size/distance to really suit you, great detail. *Refresh Rate* I don't really know how, but they released an update that allows for *120Hz*, yeah, it doubled the refresh rate with a Software update, I tested it on PC and it looks great, it's really 120hz, it's crazy that the glasses were able to do this the whole time but only got enabled now.

can you do a video specificly for the windows part? showing the nebula app and all, I could not find any information about it
@Sacred-Lotus Жыл бұрын
Is that 120Hz refresh rate also enabled for Nreal Air 1?
@drewhunter3929 Жыл бұрын
@yunusalih there's not much to do a video about, it's pretty plugNplay, you run the app and it gives you 3 modes, Single screen, Triple Monitor or 1 Wide screen monitor, the download link is in their Official Discord for some reason. @Sacred-Lotus , yeah, this is the first Nreal Air

Great review and spot on! I am so disappointed by mine that I got few days ago. I have an m1 mac and tripple monitor is cool but the resolution on the 2 side virtual monitors is really low (760p) or something. I feel betrayed by all the tech youtubers that I enjoy watching for their paid fake hype. I ordered the beam to see if it makes using it better. So far ive tried the glasses with (galaxy note 10+, tab s8+, m1 mac mini, surface laptop 4). The fact that the display moves wherever i look makes it unsuable for productivity tasks.

After watching so many positive reviews I purchased them. Tried them this morning and returned them this afternoon. Mac software Nebula is useless. Screens shake and jitter. Definitely don’t stay stable and I have the latest macbook Air 15 which is only 6 days old. I researched other reviewers and found only one person that mentions this. This incident completely changed my view on KZbin reviewers. This product is impossible to recommend and yes because of the extremely limited angle of view they are NOT big screens either. So disappointed!!! Thank you for the video!
@HamzaRashid Жыл бұрын
100% same experience with m1 mac mini. Nebula for mac is nearly unusable for any serious work. Also lost faith in all the trusted tech youtubers. I almost returned it but decided to buy the beam to see if it will be jittery with that. Gotta support honest non-sponsored people with comments and watch time so their reveiws get pushed by youtube

How would you compare this with watching a movie on your fold 3? Is it really a noticable upgrade through screen size and quality?
@drewhunter3929 Жыл бұрын
I think the glasses are better, if you hold the phone next to your face you can get a similar screen size/quality, but you'll put a lot of strain on your neck/arms watching a full movie that way, it's much more comfortable to use the glasses
@wfthkttn Жыл бұрын
After watching your review I decided that I indeed need to test it myself and did buy it. All those happy-pony-crap reviews didn't do it for me. The resolution is good enough for working (code). I do not have an office, nor luxury of living at the same spot, so, its pretty much perfect solution for me. There are some software issues on windows, but it will be eventually fixed, if not by Nreal, then by myself. Big problem for me is bad weight distribution, its all goes to the nose bridge. If you are on your chair all day long, crunching, glasses will press on your nose so much, it goes numb. There are some people that do hardware mods already, for example light shield design somewhere at etsy, may redistribute the weight and it will be settled? No idea yet. Anyway, the glasses are quite good for programming I'd say. More then I expected.

hey, developer here, would appreciate if you could shade some light: did you get in the windows nebula beta? Can you have body tracking on Windows? Can you have multiple screens (3) on Windows? How do you find the experience? Do your eyes get tired easily with these? Can you use them for regular work/coding?
@wfthkttn Жыл бұрын
@cafeine No idea what you mean by body tracking there, it's 3DOF, you sit on your chair and the displays is around you (not nailed in front of your face). Currently I use 2 real screens + 3 virtual ones. Messengers and some utility stays on real screens, so I can see them even without wearing glasses. Here how its look like: ?links are not allowed? Disclaimer: ̶M̶y̶ ̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶u̶g̶m̶e̶n̶t̶e̶d̶ I have nearly perfect vision As of the experience, if I was only sitting at my house, I'd stay with screens since it's way easier and convenient - no additional apps, full performance, no compatibility issues, no need to get it onto your head, yadda yadda yadda. At first it felt somewhat tiring, then I changed the screens so they are larger, but further away, and it somehow made a difference. Overall, it is heavier on eye-strain than regular screens, but for me its on acceptable level. Size-wise, displays is smaller than 27" 50cm away from me, around 21". Feels like 27 tho. Clarity is pretty good, I use 3x fullhd, and while its less clear than physical 17" 1080p I have, it is more useful, since "on the go" you rarely have a table with proper display placement height, and always look down at your display/laptop, which ends with terrible posture and neck strain. There are jitter to the text with high contrast (white on black, for example dark YT UI), not big deal, but noticeable, no idea if ramping up refresh rate will fix it. Comfort-wise. I was using it for 10+ hr a time, and stock nose-pad is not an option for that. I ended up ordering foam-strips designed for masks, and it made a huge difference. As of the software, after removing some dumb keybindings from unity assembly its usable, but not perfect. In order to make nebula not mirror your main screen, but use 3 virtual screens I have to add one with separate software/script, set is as main display, start nebula, set main display back to my real screen(otherwise it gives me god awful lag). Not exactly plug and play, neither deal breaker, but still took time to figure out. Also it would always reorder my screens on start, I hope they will be able to figure out how to tame windows display manager and do it properly. My laptop never goes to sleep, and my nreal "away" sensor is covered with a tape so it won't ever turn off. TLDR: There are issues with software, but it will get there sooner or later. P.S. I'd kill for the same glasses but 60FOV with 2K screens
