If i can get it at or near msrp, sure. But in my area it's $200-300. I can't really drive out to downtown Chicago stores every week.

I've done that exact comparison, EHT sib, JJ bowman, blantons gold and blantons sib. That blind brought out the Creamsicle in 93proof blantons. I found jj bowman and blantons gold to be very similar. Cheers

Got my first Blantons Gold at a Binneys in Chicago this summer. Think I paid $135 before taxes? Agree, it’s a very good whiskey.

One of my local stores did a Gold Store Pick and gave loyal customers a chance to buy one for MSRP. I own two.

My area its going for 300-400. I can't bring myself to pay that.

I did see that old Bakers bottle like 5 months ago... I passed on it because I got the 1792 single barrel which I never seen on the shelf... Now the Old bakers bottles is all gone 😢

--I have an older bottle of Old Forester Signature (100 proof ). Remember when age statements went away around 2015 due to the dearth of older stocks (Knob Creek, Elijah Craig, etc.) ? Though NAS, my taste buds tell me that the earlier Old Forester bottles have older juice in them than the more recent bottles. --Peerless has made a delicious rye finished in absinthe barrels. My wife won't let me touch it--it is HER bottle. --I have a couple of recent single barrels of Larceny 92 proof so at least Heaven Hill is still doing those.

The problem with the EC private barrels is the price. Most of them that I've seen are like 8-9 years old and the price is usually around $99. Sure they are good but why pay that much money when the ABC batches are usually around $75 and they are a few years older.

Found an old Bakers last week. Owner had a stash in his private whiskey storage room. Seems he puts some allocated in it every quarter and leaves it there for years. Evan Williams SiB is $60 plus tax in my state but is $32 and no tax an hour away.

I got a Elijah Craig Single Barrel at 94 proof last year at Total Wine in Denver it was real good but a but nutty though,but in June I got a Elijah Craig Single Barrel at 94 proof in Dillion Colorado that was 10 years that was so amazing!! I know what you mean bout the higher proof EC Single Barrel they just sit on shelf 🥃

In Des Moines, we still have plenty of the regular EC small batch on the shelves, but I HAVE noticed the arrival of the private barrel offerings and two different price points.

Be careful with that Baker 7 small batch. To be honest, I would open it and put in a new cork. I have seen in store where that cork has failed and caused the juices inside to evaporate. I also bought two a couple years ago and both had cork failure when I opened them. I do agree. The newer juice is better, but if you’re keeping that old one, please I would suggest changing out that cork.

For the Old Fitzgerald, I wish you would have profiled the budget sub $20 Bottled-in-Bond bourbon version that was discontinued and replaced with the heavily inflated, almost unobtainable decanter version.

Those Elijah Craig 94 proof single barrels are still coming out. I've seen two in the last year.

I was going to do a bottle of the High West but now that they are using some of their own juice I’m not sure I’m interested anymore. I’ve seen reviews on some of their products that aren’t getting to much love especially the midwinter night dram first way overpriced and it isn’t as good as it once was so definitely a pass. Most of the other bottles other than the Bakers 7 which is always on my shelf I’ve never seen so something I’m not missing. Good video. Enjoy!!🥃🥃🥃

A couple stores around me still have the old Bakers 7, Grabbed one just for the shelf. How about a blind between Blue Note 17 and Dickel 17? Keep up the great reviews.

Bakers 7 small batch was much different than these single barrels. Better? I'm not to sure. Would love to see a blind with a few single barrels and that small batch. Maybe throw in a knob creek for good measure.

It’s been harder to find in my area lately. Maybe for the last 5-6 months. Makes me wonder if the OG distillate is almost gone. So there has been a gap put out there before the new juice (from Saz) starts to hit the shelves. Just me wondering out loud. But I have this on the bar at all times!

Definitely a great value. $25 here in Virginia, if you can find it. Not allocated but it is hard to come by.

A really solid bottle. A 1L at my local store was $27. I keep this on my shelf. I do prefer the JW Dant BIB @15 for a 750ml, as sipper. I won't turn down an Early Times as a sipper, for my palate I prefer the Dant.

The tobacco, leather, oak combo isn’t what I look for and enjoy, so personally I don’t love this bottle. But I can definitely agree that the concentration of flavors and complexity is extremely surprising when you look at price.

These range in price from $23 to $39 in my area. Some stores say its allocated but I'm not sure. I'd love to see a showdown between JW Dant Bottled In Bond vs. Early Times BIB.

So many people get fooled by fancy bottles and high price thinking it makes for a better pour, after sipping on the juice for over 50yrs I have been fooled one time too many 🤔 some of the best stuff out there is $50 or less, Well for my taste anyways 😉👍🥃

Great video, and I completely agree! Only EH Taylor Small Batch beats this bourbon, and outside of EH Taylor, no bourbon 100 proof or lower is better, in my opinion! If you don't like Early Times bottled-in-bond, you probably just don't like bourbon. Eidt: Ok, so maybe Eagle Rare 20 and Weller Millenium is better than Early Times BIB, haha, but I've never been so lucky to try it. I haven't experienced any bourbon, actually ANY whiskey, 100 proof or lower that is better than Early Times BIB, except EH Taylor Small Batch and EH Taylor Straight Rye.

For me it's not good enough to drink neat. Only use it as a mixer
