I really want to grab one of these guitars. This guitar and it’s Mexican roots are the motivation behind my road worn build. Great playing!

Is it possible to get that sound from a Gibson sg standard with 490r and t pickups and no mods?
@JAL-cc8jdКүн бұрын
While Gibson pickups in general aren't my favorites, I recently bought a new Studio with BB Pros and a new Studio Session with 57 Classics. They both sound really good, but overall I like the 57's a bit better.

That definitely sounds awesome! I am curious how to dial those pickups in. Would this combination along with 50’s wiring work well in a Gibson Sg Standard?

So subjective..... Depends on 100 variables. Good to hear a video with clarity and no gain. But gain can be a big difference. A thinner sounding pickup clean can sound much better distorted. Lastly, you have to play with treble to hear both. All the way up is "1" sound.

I have the BB Pros in my 2017 Standard HP and I've tried multiple other pickups but keep going back to them. I love the neck... I just wish the bridge had a tad more warmth. Yet here I am at the end or 2024 still using them.

I own it. The blend knob really opens the palette. If you spend some time sweeping back and forth you find a wide range of really nice drive sounds. It gets even more vast by switching guitars. Stacking is great, but the blend feature is the magic in this pedal.

Yes, the parallel blending is also my favorite setting. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

I really do love both. They sound awesome. I have 57 classics that i unwaxed and I think i prefer the 57 classic just a little more but I wouldn’t change pickups my les paul happen to come with burstbuckers 1 & 2. I don’t like burstbucker pros and really don’t like the 490 stuff

A pair of 57 classic cost 260$ and a pair of Custombuckers cost 460$… My question is, can you hear the 200$ difference? In my case I can’t. I really love the 57 classic, I think it’s an amazing pickup, and great value for money. Great video!! :)

The throwbaks are less spiky and more lush on the neck pickup. Very close though. I’m pretty sure Carters doesn’t go with Throbaks simply because of the price…

@LawrencePetrossАй бұрын
Hello Evan, The Fifty5 is the latest version of the top mount Fifty5 circuit. The Sixty8 is a new version with tonal updates to bring it closer to my personal Plexi SL. An internal gain boost trimmer has been added to extend the gain range for those desiring more gain than the standard Sixty8 as well as a newly redesigned Bass control. Please let me know if you have any questions.
@VisualGuyАй бұрын
The voice switch on the 55 has been reversed and the Sixty8 has a new bass control and internal trimmer for a pre-amp boost to add gain! Thanks for asking!
