Interested in getting this. Will this work with a short shifter with the raised shifter base bushings? How thick is the cover?
@PlaneTMRS
@PlaneTMRS 2 күн бұрын
Hey thank you for your interest! It’s about 4mm thick so it fits exactly in the same tabs as the factory shift boot. Sadly I can’t promise you if it’s gonna work or not with your setup but I am confident it can. Raising the shifter and having a short shifter should only reduce the movement at the height of the cover so I think it could work!
@bigboa660
@bigboa660 2 күн бұрын
@@PlaneTMRS oh ok if it's 4mm thick in total i think it should be good. i think i have about 7-8mm of clearance from the top of the shifter cage to the bottom of the boot. it never rattles against the shifter stem from vibrations or bumps?

i doubt its incredibly stiff… why? because its very old car and normally between generations you get even 50-100% gains in stiffnes. So literally every normal current car is much stiffer. You can find numbers for each car, its pretty interesting.
@PlaneTMRS
@PlaneTMRS 11 күн бұрын
I can’t argue with that ;p but my statement was never a comparison to modern cars. At most it might have been one to my Toyota MR-S which based on being a convertible, doesn’t have the most stuff chassis :p I wanted to emphasize that FOR such an old car, this is probably as stiff as an AE86 can get. Stiff two door body, rollcage, strut bar and spot welded seams :D

Buen chasis pero el motor 1zzfe no sirve para este coche y el 2zzge es otro motor chino cutre,el mr2 se merece un swap al k20/k24 y con turbo mejor ideal para ese chasis

@PlaneTMRS 4 ай бұрын
I actually quite like the 1ZZ, even though I might be alone with that opinion. It's slow, lacks torque down low and struggles above 170kmh but I think its fits the character of the car quite well. In the end its a low range-sports-convbertible which compares to a Miata with similar (slower) engines and not to any supercars

@@joseguerra4520 I know all that ;D It's not like the 2ZZ is the only engine in the world with problems like that. And of course I also know about HALF WAY and their K series swaps on the MR-S. The K series are amazing engines and yes, they are superior to the 1ZZ and even 2ZZ. I however dont like to judge people who did something like build a fast car and tell them they should have done it differently. My MR-S has a 1ZZ so I'm not in the position to tell anyone what engine they should use :P But we live in a free world nowadays so you are lucky and you can just use what ever engine you want in your own car, isn't that amazing? :D
