I dont understand, in modern waltz the woman's head was always pointed side wards like a broken dool, but this, they were looking at each other

Omg I'm writing an 18th century romance novel and this is EXACTLY what I need for the ballroom scene where the two leads dance! THANK YOU!!! (I may have to shove the time period forward to take advantage of some of those later dances…😚)

My late father Pete Berry Sr., once upon a time ran many of these as I was told. He was born in 1903, and at thirteen journeyed to Chicago Il., where he began his Empire starting out owning the Montrose Harbor, bait shop in Chicago. Always in my memory. May the good Lord Bless his Soul and let his Spirit fly high.

everyone here is for lily and carter (slay) while i'm here because our character dance teacher got mad at us for 'not knowing anything about character dance' and told us to research so now i'm falling down a rabbit hole while dying inside 😭

I do like how the mid victorian polka was considered to exuberant to the edwardians and wouldn't even be considered trying in terms of the German style polka I was taught as a kid.

Those flair kicks at 0:45 were still taught in Sloe Waltz in the Arthur Murray studios in the 1990's. He learned and taught for the Castles as a younger man. He probably adopted some of their business tactics as well.

All of this talking over the music is VERY annoying. What the heck were you people thinking? You have these rare, precious pieces of ballet history thatnhavnt been performed in ages and talk over them?

The Caroso Galliard is just wonderful, majestic and in my humble opinion, the very essence of renaissance dance.
