Great modern arrangement for a tune that’s over ½ a century old now. Think also, that this video had the audio setup bang on this time. To my surprise, this sounded better listening on speakers than when I switched over to headphones, as on speakers reproduced the ambiance of being played in the open air. I’ll have to listen again this evening without watching the video to see if this is a contextual effect of the two senses.

Sounds great. That is a unique looking instrument. It resembles a 12 string guitar but it is played almost like a cello.

It seems to have been given a little reverb or something so it sounds as if it is being played in a room. So visually this seemed out of context or odd to the beautiful outdoors. Is it just me? However, I like seeing the performances in different locations.
@bobculbertson15 күн бұрын
Interesting; I usually mix outdoor sound a bit with the direct sound. Places like the ocean or where there is a little breeze or birds work well. The location here was perfectly still that day. This recording was direct. I will take that into account more. Thank you for the tip!

is any body knows whats the tunning of that amazing instrument thats a kind of magic
@bobculbertson18 күн бұрын
The guitar side is tuned in 4ths EADGCF. the bass side is the same but inverted 5ths meaning the lowest note is the F. There is a brief demonstration of this on this short. kzbin.infoN9J2hK3Ih7s

This is incredible!! The instrument, the talent and skill! Everything except something! Idk what it is but something about your rendition is just off and was driving me crazy. My first instinct was that it was just too busy but I’m not sure.

I know people are going to mention the tapping, but the PRECISION it takes to even play that instrument without fluffing notes or muting is nuts. Such little space
