The whole time I was listening to this dude yap about how he miss old final fantasy and how it don't feel like it's the old games anymore only to bring up how final fantasy shouldn't do a twist like old games did at 39 min mark. Doomed if they do doomed if they don't. If they actually made the main character aware of what he did from the beginning you would've moan and whine about how there's no buildup by bringing some final fantasy 9 storybeat or something. There's no pleasing people like you honestly. While the criticisms about open worlds these days begin big and empty is actually true rest of this is tier one garbage

So many issues with the direction of this trilogy. Pacing, rebirths lack of committed direction, villains arc is still unexplained 2/3 way through and they have multiple arcs to introduce let alone end in pt 3. Please no more Sephiroth battles. Just being aerith back and let’s be done.

Giants like square, blizzard, and so so many more are a cautionary tale for big companies anywhere. Your name and past accomplishment will give you coasting distance when you make mistakes. But if you let rot eat at the core of what made you great, well, as a customer I just don't care. I dont owe you my money, you need to earn it. And with every failure, I become more resistant to give you another chance. Ff16 was my last final fantasy. I've already buried you, and not without tears shed.

They are souless and vapid. Writing and plot are beyond embarrassing, the tedious dungeons and bloat of unnecessary chores to pad the playtime are just sad. I honestly think it's so disrespectful to come back to a self contained story someone else wrote and then erase ALL subtlety and proceed to reveal plot twists at inaffective moments just to make a bigger spectacle and try to subvert expectations. The most disrespectful part was that they shifted to a 3 game formula aimed at new fans YEARS after the initial teaser for the remake.

You know... It's ok for me, as I have already experienced the original in my childhood and this is just a fun look at pretty graphics and such but what a tragedy for new players who will miss so much here from a classic abandoned.

I just started this game and I literally was thinking about how amazing and gripping this opening was, not just from the shocking and subversive plot moments so early on, but just how awe inspiring everything is. From the set pieces, to immediately likable and clearly understandable characters, and the music. The music was just so good. It is probably one of my favorite openings to any story. I had never really enjoyed single player RPGs growing up but FF9 has had a lot to love so far. Especially with the ECHO-S9 mod, which I am patiently waiting for its full release so I can play through the rest of the game.

finally someone explains their point of view without a hateful tone. i liked remake however that doesn't mean their were some points i did not like Roche for example i had no love for the character at all in my opinion his character was a wast of scream time. the whispers were a weird choice in my opinion while i understand the reason for the whispers they really did not help the story that much. this is my 3rd play threw of final fantasy 7 remake. i loved the battle system and am looking forward too part 2 i have it prordered on steam the 23rd of January cant come soon enough.

I don't want everything to have the same feel and vibe. I like that it's not "like" many other Final Fantasies. I love change. Everytime I pick up this game here and there the battles excite me and I love the design. The Leviathan battle, all the Eikon battles were epic. I don't need a bumbling fool or forced strange character for comic relief. I love Remake and Rebirth and I love 16. I'm so glad I have different feeling games to go to when the mood strikes. Change man, gotta love it.

Tetsuya Nomura is the worst thing to ever happen to video games.

This game is really a massive series of missed opportunities that I can only chalk up to lack of talent and bad resource management. Its one of those premises that is extremely self-evident: you have two brothers and two walks of life you want to show, and each one represents an aspect of the same core power. Do a dual protagonist game that cuts between Clive's anti-magic anarchic every-man rebels and Joshua's entrenched political machinations trying to fix the world from the inside. Now you have antagonists that Clive cares about directly because they hurt his family and antagonists Joshua cares about directly because he was actually at the table when the intrigue was happening. This also cuts out most of the filler because you don't need 70 garbage side quests when you have two tightly written chapters to swap between instead, and you don't have poorly explained fights that are only in your way because they have to be. The final fight is a natural conflict between Clive's dark destructive Ifrit power and Joshua's redemptive Pheonix power instead of the weird Naruto aliens, strip those out completely they are entirely unnecessary. This game honestly writes itself and its baffling it was done so poorly. Either way, Octopath 2 is the true Final Fantasy 16 in my mind.

I'm going to play the game for the second time soon, having hated playing it the first time but I've actually come to admire the guts of Square for making a remake like this. It demands you play the original game in order to understand what's going on. It doesn't try to erase or surpass the original like other, more cynical remakes, because it can't. How could any remake or sequel ever surpass the original? If you ever believed it could, that reflects your evidently low opinion of the original game. I don't want to hear crying about "muh marketing" either, that's entirely on you. You bought a FF7 "Remake" because clearly you don't like the original game on some level. I know I did. I think there are issues with the remakes besides them not being faithful to the originals, like the lethargic pacing, but still, I respect the approach. All those people who waited for years, crying for a remake, refusing to play the original because of its "dated" presentation got a smack to the face and they deserved it, because they never truly loved FF7. If they did, they would love it unconditionally despite its technical limitations. It's like with people who refuse to watch classic movies because they're black-and-white or have a 4:3 aspect ratio. Can't tolerate PS1 graphics? You don't get to experience FF7 as intended then, too bad. You can go and play the remake though with its anime cringe nonsense and time jannies. At least it has HD graphics and voice acting, right? LOL

In Crisis core you can see how much Shinra was a mess in that moment. Shinra was collapsing even before the Nibelheim accident. Sephiroth did not turn crazy for no reason. Professor Hojo became the leader of the dept of science and he was a crazy arrogant person who wanted to be God and played with life in a ruthless and disrespectful way. Tseng did not like Hojo, did not agree with him. Hojo wanted to sacrifice Zack Fair for his will of power but Tseng tried to save him, even if Shinra's order was to kill him. Soldier was completely out of control and only Zack could be a good leader for it. Tseng knew it and also knew how much Hojo was dangerous. Zack and Tseng were the only hope for Shinra. And it was Reno's bad if finally Zack was catched and killed during his attempt to get Midgar for helping Tseng. Unlike Cloud who looks always angry, Zack looked always happy. In Crisis core there was still hope, Zack was sure things would go good untill the last moment of his life. This is why Zack's death is so cruel and sad. In ffvii there's no hope in any moment. There's just necessity. In no moment they think they can succeed, but they should try because there's never another option. Ffvii is a no choice story, no hope but also no fear, just necessity. In crisis core there was still hope, and then Reno appear. Reno is the real representat of Shinra's madness, of the human madness in the attempt to be god. This is why Reno in his pretended arrogance is ridiculous and weak, he was the only one enough ruthless to be the material executioner of all sector 7. No forget, and no forgive for Reno. Zack and sector 7 forever in our hearts

Everything is bad in the remake except graphics. My biggest problem is that if they wanted to change the original game its fine by me but by changing story they had a great opportunity to make it exciting for OG players too by giving only slight hints that everything is not the same. Instead they fcking overflow us with allkinda sh*t like showing Sephiroth early, showing those whispers everywhere etc. Not to mention that now every part is a standalone game meaning that you start from 0 and basically get everything by the end of these episodes. Thats stupid. I like the fact that in the original you only get the handful of materia by the end of Midgard - only couple of elements, all materia and couple of yellow. That is just enough so you could learn the basics. In Remake they fcking flood you with materia and at the same time don't give you any equipment with enough slots to equip enough of them. NOT to mention that in remake they have some asshole battles where if you don't know what exact materia to equip for that fight the fight is much harder to allmost unbeatable. But how are you suppose to know when playing blind? You don't get any summons and I would have been fine if in episode one you could only get the bonus summons just to get you a hint what is yet to come. Having Bahamut in midgard id retarded. Not to mention how lazy they went with acquaring summons - you used to find them as you go along - now you have this stupid android human where you just fight and get them. Asfar as story goes as I said they show you way too much. The Sephiroth, whispers everywhere, those stupid arbiter battles - WHY? If they wanted to change the story to alternate story all they had to do is start the game playing out as in vanilla but then at some pivot point do something slightly differently - like when Cloud meets Aerith for the first time and therefore setting everything to play out different. Don't show too much, don't overdo it, make it mysterious - less is more. Also I don't like the combat too much - basically to play eny character good you have to be in control since AI controlled characters are just stupid BUT changing between all the characters all the time in such a fast fights is annoying - just playing well with Tifa for example is a handful. Its just too much. And the battles overall are annoying - I like in RPG's that if you wan't you can overlevel or if you wan't you can also move forward all the time making game way harder. Now you onlöy get handful of battles and that stupid battle system where you hit the enemy for half an hour to stagger it and then dish out the damage. Annoying as hell. If anyojne says that final Fantasy games like 13, 7 Remake, 16 are good they must be 15 years old and don't know anything about the older games and where they came from.

extremely late but i think that the bearers being persecuted and the dominants not is inspired from how attack on titan does it with how normal eldians are persecuted just for having the ability to become titans, whilst shifters are not because they can turn into war machines at will, howeever and a big however here it doesnt make sense simply because no eldian from aot can willingly turn into a titan, they need to be forced to using the serum, since in ff16 every bearer can weild magic by default it just makes the whole thing stupid when the bearers could just get together and attack the oppressors whereas no eldian can do that. also dont forget that shifers in aot arent treated as celebrities like dominants are for the most part here, they are just treated as normal citizens or honorary eldians as they are called

Great video. Here are some truth pills for you all: 1. FF7R is the true realization of Final Fantasy combat in real-time and is a brilliant translation of what turn-based ATB feels like into real-time. If you don't like it because you "can't avoid damage" or you "get stunlocked" then you don't get it at all. 2. YoshiP is one of the most overrated game directors of all time and FF14 has been in a rancid state of mediocrity for far longer than anyone had the balls to admit.

Ah so now its clear. In FFVII 3 Reunion in final battle Sephirot will merge with Jenova and then come the Ultimecia as ruller of the Whispers. So Cloud and company muss join hand with another group of heroes from another time and dimension Squall and others, to defeat this new mega threat that posible can destroy whole universe! :D

Ultima for me is the weakest part of this game and you really hit the nail with the reference to the White Walkers. They really could've just went with Barnabas being a very cunning foreigner who successfully infiltrated the main island/continent for easy colonization to steal the mother crystal resources. But nah we got a weird ass alien.

The other missing aspect of the Golden Saucer mystery is Sephiroth. Most people's initial reaction is that obviously it was Sephiroth who killed everyone. And Barret's story unexpectedly subverts those expectations. But as this video demonstrates Sephiroth is no longer a villain and no longer an enigma so it doesn't matter. Hence the Golden Saucer drama no longer matters
