Baddass Bass run and solo. The Bass Guitar part was one of the bass lines I tried to master in my early years as a Bass Guitarist. Mastering the Bass Guitar solo on Scorpio was also required if were considered a great great Bass Guitarist.

It just occurred to me, someone could probably take this instrumental and use AI to strip the vocal track from the vocal version, I’ve seen people use that to get acapellas from hip hop tracks with instrumental versions
@daddybones453 ай бұрын
@@UNDERGROUNDskateco yeah it’s amazing what AI can do, but the vocals on the Masterpiece and Mod Art releases are so low-fidelity…dunno what success there might be!

Irv Jackson is a good friend of mine who I talk to often and I'm sure he would agree with your perceptions of this recording. He was a disc jockey who somehow was talked into doing this record and has regretted it ever since. I love to remind him of it, though. I have an old warped copy of it that doesn't play well, so this YT posting was great to find. Please don't ever take it down!

Thanks guys. This song was the first song my brother and I recorded . It led to Don Cornelius managing the Mystics and trying to get the group signed to a major label. Subsequently , Don started his own Soul Train Records label . He formed the Soul Train Gang singing group that featured me and Terry on several songs. It was the intention of Don , Terry and me to sign former highschool music students from Terry's music class. They included : L.A. Reid ; Reggie Calloway and members of the Deele and Midnight Star. We also recommended the signing of our homies Lakeside for Soul Train Records .

That’s fantastic information! Thanks so much for your comment. Nice connection there with L.A. Reid, who (I think) first recorded as a member of Pure Essence who cut “Wake Up” on Mantra Records of Cincinnati.
