It may have to do with the duty cycle - is it rated for that sort of work? Can it stay idle for long periods of time (during the summer) then firing up? Does it require maintenance during the period it is not being used? Heating loops are not really the cleanest and may not be meant for domestic water heaters.
@JasonYouTubeКүн бұрын
@Cain-x I fire this up about once a month during summer to get everything cleaned out and fluid circulated for about 10 minutes. Otherwise, I didn't have to do anything to unit. It's been good

@JasonYouTube3 күн бұрын
@HankOrionYT Maybe for exterior storm window , but I think the R Value would be low for regular windoe use as those usually have argon gas to increase R value So if your in an ideal climate where single pane windows work, then yes, I would use these. Wouldn't need to worry about window breaking! But plexiglass scratches more easy then glass. Thanks for watching

6ft truss spacing, would you do again like that or go 4ft truss spacing?
@JasonYouTube10 күн бұрын
@MJCART-be9nb I would do the same spacing especially now since after covid the prices have doubled to tripled. Labor costs went up as construction materials are only about 15% more now.

Just people know, this is an old post and that top plate and rollers can be mounted either on top, or if you flip the bracket, it will sit flush. From a height perspective, there is a little play as far as consistant diamensions go. It might vary a little, but not 2 inches. You also will notice, xk makes these for at least 25 other companies. Like, apluslift, redlands, ect are all this same lift, different paint and stickers. Some have different pumps and some vary in width. Some have adjustable widths as well.

The edges length ways , the j channel will go on drywall and can use caulk for gap . On the ends where the humps are , I screw to end rafters then the top of wall will use Foam closure strips to air seal the gaps where ceiling liner meets wall.

I have heated my house with in floor hot water for over 10 years with a bosch domestic water heater. It has no connection with domestic hot water. My only problem was caused by using city water to fill the tubes. A sensor had to be cleaned because calcium built up on it. Once cleaned it has worked perfectly.

It don’t take 15 minutes take to grass and then use paper towels. Sure that’s a big ass wheel. But it’s biodegradable so it’s fine to dump in grass or down drain. Now fix a flat is nasty shit as it dries once air hits it. Causing it to hardens like epoxy.

really great video. Just wondering, did you have to run a pipe inside of another pipe because your waterline pipe is flexible? In other words, if you were just running a rigid water pipe through a concrete wall, would it have to be surrounded by another pipe? I guess I don't understand the point of that.
@JasonYouTube4 ай бұрын
@jayviz Sleeving the pipe ( ie running pipe inside pipe ) allows a little movement in case house foundation settles, or dirt settles so as not to put stress on flexible plastic pipe. If it's rigid , then you could just run galvanized, copper, rigid pvc and you will be fine. Thanks for watching

Slime is AWESOME ! But Most people use WAY TOO MUCH ! Simply inject a Tiny amount & roll tire around until it faces down & let it do it's thing. After a few mins. If it hasn't sealed it up completely. Add a Tiny bit more. & I mean "TINY". Usually no more than twice will do it. And you will notice that you still have ( 90+% ) of the bottle left. You can verify what I'm saying by simply looking at these tires once they are removed. The puncture has long since been sealed but they still have a majority of the can sloshing around. Such a Waste. BUT ... they sell more Slime that way.

great idea to put the radiant floor in the sand, very unusual...is the radiant floor in the cement as well ? because the sand wants to move are you sure it wont sink or move with time and crack the cement floor on top? what was the total depth of sand and the cement floor ? #
@JasonYouTube4 ай бұрын
Only tubes in the sand , and sand is the most stable foundation to put concrete on. The cement is about 4-5 inches and the tubes are about 10-12 inches under cement top. So basically sand and cement have close to same heat transfer rate, but sand is cheaper per yard then concrete. Thanks for watching

Did you just screw the metal in at the four foot truss locations or did you need to add something in between them? Please and thank you.

Just screwed to trusses. If your trusses are over 6ft, then you would probably want blocking between trusses to prevent sagging with insulation on top of ceiling panels

This is something I couldn't wrap my head around, insulation under the slab. Heat rises, right? It only makes sense that it would go up into the building and not out into the ground.
@JasonYouTube8 ай бұрын
The ground does sap the heat but only to an extent. You would need perimeter side insulation or else the sides would drain the heat from slab and it wouldn't heat. So basically create a chimney and the ground with tubing is the fire. You do need more tubing with the insulation to properly heat the ground to make it work. Thanks for watching

So its set at 130 degrees and on 58 degrees in the shop
@JasonYouTube8 ай бұрын
The water temp is actually 90 degrees going into the floor slab. The heater is set at 130 degrees but it mixes with returning floor water on the panels , so it loses 40 degrees at panel.
