I still have a cassette from 1991 with songs I recorded off the radio, and this is one of them. lol

I use, “then the horns kicked in” every few weeks at work. It’s a wonderful non sequitur for people who don’t know this song.

It’s Oct 2024 I’m back for the feels. Everyone I play 2NU for either loves it or hates it. I was at work in rural NC, I moved there, and a guy I worked with randomly did the um baba cho while were changing out and I said “This is ponderous man really ponderous” he slow turned and said he had never met anyone else that knew that song.

Be funny if you had things set up to look at, like the sign "aren't you supposed to be at work?"

I’m with you. I recorded part of the song off the radio like 30 some years ago but have never been able to find it. Never knew the name or who sang it. Thanks!

Yeah nobody remembers it. I tried searching on google but couldnt think of the name exactly, just snippets of lyrics. It took forever to finally pin it down.

Oh my gosh. I heard the tail end of this song on my way to work this morning. What a fun one! And this video just seals the deal. Thank you!! :)

I remember when this was on the radio. People would call in to the station for a contest to see if they could recite the OOOM POPPA part to win some giveaway. Those were fun days. Cool vid!

Can you imagine how many people actually got in their car drove(paying $1/gallon or so, but their car probably only got about 22mpg) to a record store solely to purchase this record or cassette? Yes, there were stores that just sold music. They were one of the first things that the Pilgrims were taught by the natives after arriving in the New World on the Mayflower.

I heard this song ,, again,, in 2018... In a McDonald's parking lot, in Columbia SC, while working for a remote repair technician job. This song illustrates the DADA absurdity movement in the early 90's.

If this song came out in the 80’s, it would have been lumped into the New Wave genre.
