I want to buy a 2015-2018 R1 but I dont know which one because of the money difference and so, 2018 is with black engine, 2015 is with grey engine and the man who has the 2015 tells me that never problem detected but never recalled.
@theracingnoodleАй бұрын
If it is the 2015 with the silver engine, then that model has been recalled for the crank. If he hasn't done that recall by now, I would skip that bike altogether. The black engine case would depict the R1S model, slightly detuned version of the silver engine.

Instead of using cleaner or solvent on the exhaust use WD40 or another low smoke oil based lubricant. The oil removes others oils more efficiently and it allows the metal to change color’s uniformly while also providing anti corrosion properties because you carburized the surface.
@theracingnoodle6 ай бұрын
that's some damn good info!
@RadDadisRad6 ай бұрын
The color changing of the metal is also easily fixed. Use a 3M scotchbrite pad, wd40 and scrub until it no longer colored. I had to fix my exhaust after a plastic bag stuck to my HOT exhaust. I also suggest using a high temp anti seize on your gasket faces and pipe junctions. When you go to pull the exhaust off it’ll separate like it’s brand new.
@theracingnoodle6 ай бұрын
@@RadDadisRad hell yea - going to keep that in my back pocket. would've hated had that happened to me, plastic bag, on titanium pipes.

Take your mid bolts off the radiator and use a bungee to pull the bottom forward. Really helps to get the exhaust out.

I'm following this as I'm doing the same thing, but in no particular hurry. Just did Bitubo suspension/vortex rearsets. I managed to get go shift without needing to alter the sprocket cover. Did the forks still mounted on the bike. Easy job.
@theracingnoodle7 ай бұрын
Yeaaa, the WC units change it at the shift actuator -- had it been at the shift pivot on the rearset definitely wouldn't need to cut the sprocket cover. Was going to run without but much too close to the vent lines. Toughest thing so far has been this Yoyodyne clutch fiasco!
