think chapman and slab got into an argument in bunker #1. Something along the lines of chapman being pissed about the lack of aggression towards taking the bunkers and slab wanting to hold back. I'm not convinced Chapman was ever initially wounded making him incapacitated. I think the argument between Chapman and slab led to the seals getting out of there and chapman not giving up a bunker he just single handedly took especially with Roberts body there. Slab slid down the mountain and Chapman hunkered down and called in close air support(thats his job) for himself. Once he realized enemy combatants were still alive, going hand to hand and seeing the Ranger QRF was about to land he got back in the fight and was eventually killed. Chapman got off that bird and did exactly what we were taught in Infantry school, Ranger school and unit live fire training to do when caught in an ambush. You fight through it toward the point of contact. Escpecially bunkered positions on a mountain top or hill side. Any NCO I served with would've flipped his shit on anyone performing the way those seals did. That's exactly what I think Chapman did at bunker #1. He took the bunker, gave slab an earfull and at that time you start to see the other seals move forward and finally start engaging due to Chapmans quick tongue lashing. They got wounded because they're doing dumb shit like standing on top of a boulder in a firefight and thats when slab said to hell with this, im out. The rest is legend status. Seals pulled this shit when I was in Ramadi and in the Korengal. None of what they did was anything other than expected. Ive been called the worst for years due to my vocal disgust for seals. Once this came out and the truth about red wings came out ppl started saying "hey man you were right". I'm just venting now. Sorry.

Amazing job on this and gut-wrenching to watch. MSgt Chapman's actions, eventual loss, and see the other get engaged as well. No consolation here but I am very glad that Mr. Chapman eventually received the MoH and was posthumously promoted.

i like the idea of Neil Robert's spirit meeting with John Chapman's when he was incapacitaded and probably unconcious, and they decided to join John's still barely alive body, for a second belt, and fight to save the Rangers. Respect. RIP saluud!°

Chapman is like the main character in a video game when the screen goes slightly red after getting hit and can continue fighting anyway.

The SEALS should be ashamed of themselves for this one. They checked Chapman, but didn't check his pulse, and assumed he was dead, then abandoned him.

Saw this 5 years ago. But never knew at time of the huge controversy behind the Medal of Honor recommendation for two men involved in this operation. Chapman deserved that award without a doubt. But lost some respect for Navy Seals higher command, Team 6, and Slabinski in trying to make Chapman look less deserving of Medal of Honor for his actions after he was left alone as dead. What Chapman did in its entirety was deserving of MOH award. Navy Seals high command/Team 6/Slabinski would have all benefited from acknowledging that it was an honest mistake in fog of war leaving Chapman behind. And everyone would be understanding. Instead, of covering up that he was not left behind, but rather dead. Refuting evidence that showed otherwise. And furthermore, trying to make efforts to only allow him to be awarded MOH for kills of only 2 men before he woke up. And making efforts to omit any mention of him being left behind alive and his bravery from when he wakes up alone & fights till end. Glad Chapman finally got his MOH award! And luckily technology confirmed the full details.

And to think...some *people* believe the Medal of Honor sits below the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In other words, the billionaire wife of a donor has performed a greater act of valor (donating) than the legendary Sgt. Chapman. I haven't the words.

As someone who’s brother served as a chief operator in Team six from 2002-2013 before he sustained amputation causing wounds that had complications leading to his future death state side, this is such a horrible look not only for Slab as someone who has zero respect for as someone who led alongside of for so many years but also the rest of the team who’s inability to meet Chapman in bunker 1 while causing the wounds of so many QRF members. My brother who was a mentor to Chuck Keating who loves Andy Stumph as the best representative of a SEAL culture in dismay, would be honored to see Chapman receive the honors for his valor that he sacrificed everything for while also being sick that his team on camera straight up folded in a way that he never did from the time he enlisted until his death no matter how much he disagreed with the war efforts and political and economical impacts of war and hating the grifter right wing machismo profiting “SEAL culture” of today. Thank you John Chapman.
