Limited supplies, you say?? Now could be a good time to practice your thread painting and free motion quilting - it was you who said you wanted to learn fmq?? Grab some cheap and nasty fat quarters and batting and go for it. In the beginning, you can even sew threadless on a piece (or many pieces) of paper. As the mother of a T daughter, we need all the allies we can get ❤❤

Yes, that’s very true. I need to give it a try at least and see if I can’t figure it out. Having allies is the amazing!

If I were you I would be mad at my quilter for leaving a space that was not quilted and you had to repair, it.

Not at all. This quilt gave her major problems. I witnessed her frustration with my own eyes. She did an amazing job with such a complicated task. She also gave me a huge reduction in price on this project. We are a team and I’m more than happy to help when needed.

If you have to hand stich a small line just stich it very slow and do it one stich at a time. You can do it.
@OffKilterCrafterIanКүн бұрын
I need to practice that.

But I can understand why they do not like kits in there shows. Your quilt is a copy of someone elses idea, not an original.

I know! That is one of the things I hate about living in an apartment, I wish I could have a ceiling mounted camera. Hopeful I can make something like that happen when I move!

I’m new and have been reading/watching how to bind like this. My question is, when you turned the quilt over after ditching, there was still loose fabric after the seam. Do you trim that? I thought there would be no loose fabric left along the bound edges? Does that make sense? (9:48 into the video)
@OffKilterCrafterIan6 күн бұрын
My quilts always have a little lose fabric. A lot of times I will try and move my needle over to the left by one position to try and help minimize the amount of loose fabric on the backside. You can always adjust how much fabric is free by adjusting where the edge is when you are glue basting. You would not trim off the excess fabric as that would leave raw edge, which could come unraveled.
