Such a great video Ian, there is a whole lot more involved in prepping for a quilt show than I thought. You do awesome work and deserve those ribbons and more. The only drawback to me would mailing it, you put in all that work, YIKES

Thanks for all that information. Quilt shows a few and far between in the U.K. so I’m not realistically going to have one entered. I am critical enough of my own work without someone else critiquing a quilt that I love! 😂 It’s funny but I thought the opposite about binding, I thought quilts entered into shows had to have machine binding on them not hand finished binding! That was a hard lesson you learnt about your quilt being a kit at least you won the online show which was far better in my opinion as you got those fantastic prizes.

You said the carpet tape might come loose if it gets too hot. Do you think using a hair dryer could soften the adhesive so it doesnt damage a painted surface, or to remove the tape from the quilt after the show?

Even with a hair dryer I wouldn’t put it on a painted surface because it still might damage it. However, that would be a great way to get it off the quilt after a show.
