There is no set number on how many patients you see a day unfortunately. Depending on the setting and location. It could be from anywhere of 6 patients a day on a very slow day or 50+ on a very busy day. It honestly just depends. I will touch up more on this question in my Phlebotomy Q&A Part 3 video. Thank you kindly.

@@HollieCepeda-p5f That’s strange. Normally parchment paper is great with non sticking. I’ve never had a problem with any baked goods or candied fruit sticking to parchment paper. What I can recommend is a silicon mat. They have in Dollar General and Walmart or Amazon. That definitely will work. Hope this helps

Hi there I love your videos I just came across your I am taking a phlebotomy online but it's a lot of information that you can also get from KZbin. So what is your take on phlebotomy online or phlebotomy in a class setting? Also I like the way that the clinic atmosphere is it seems so much more relaxing and not as stressful I'm not sure if you only do lab work through appointments only. But seems less stressful. Also one more question who are the people that actually pick up the lab drawers?

Hello, Do you think Deaf people can work as a Phlebotomist?
@floflow09Ай бұрын
Oh absolutely. I firmly stand by the deaf community that you all can do the same jobs as the hearing community. Phlebotomy just takes skill. Which you will learn from your phlebotomy course and experience. I definitely believe that a deaf phlebotomist can still be a great one and make a difference in the medical field. Good luck. I'm going for a travel phlebotomist role, with NO experience, i know, a silly move. But, how do i know what the requisition sheet is asking for? Can anyone help?
@floflow09Ай бұрын
Hmm. Travel phlebotomy may be a bit difficult without experience. Most of the travel companies require a minimum of at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience. But I also believe that anything is possible. So good luck with that. For the requisitions, you will definitely learn that in your phlebotomy courses and your phlebotomist jobs. All requisitions may look different for different companies but you will definitely be trained on them before starting. Hope this helps.

In an airtight container or storage bag. Deep freezer is always best but regular freezer will be fine as well. If you’re making them for someone. I would suggest making them one hour before arrival time for freshness. Hope this helps.

Aww Im sorry to hear that. The hospital will definitely have you walking a lot unless you’re assigned your own room and the patients come to you. I understand the walking a lot because I’ve been there before. Working in a clinic has its moments but it is way less more standing and walking than I did in the hospital. Maybe that might suit your needs better. If you want to work in a diagnostic lab. You can tell them to place you at a location with a slower traffic of patients . Maybe they can accommodate you better that way. I hope this helps.
@queenchelseaa2 ай бұрын
Okay I finished watching the video now. I'm working on a very small clinic. The Dr. Wants me to know how to do a lab requisition from start to finish. When my trainer showed me how to do the order it's like every annual lab work will be different for every patient because of diagnosis. Our requisition looks like yours as well. So besides looking up to the trainer to help with the requisition what tips or tricks can I use for the CLP website. Who can I call on especially when it comes to the diagnosis codes. The doctor will write on the face she what orders he want but we have to actually put it in on CPL and print it out.
@floflow092 ай бұрын
They’ll normally find the codes by the ICD-10-CM. In our system Atlas provides all of the codes and you just have to select the correct one that the doctor wants to use, then enter it into the system. You can always ask your supervisor if you need help locating them but Requisitions should always come with the diagnostic codes on them before entering them into the system. It is normally the last step before your labels print out.

@floflow09 i work at like a private doctor's office and what he normally do is write his orders on a patient demographic sheet.. then my supervisor which is a ma too.. do the requisition online and print it out after selecting test and diagnoses
@queenchelseaa2 ай бұрын
@floflow09 the part that I have a hard time with knowing which diagnosis to select. She says every patient is different. So I guess I should just keep learning by asking to do the requisition. Today I learned by myself there is a shortcut for the female panel on CPL from just getting familiar with the website. I'm like wow.. she didn't show this part and this would have been easier than just clicking on each test one by one.
@floflow092 ай бұрын
@@queenchelseaa oh ok I understand now. I’m sorry my dear. I am on the other side of that. So pretty much the M.A.’s are the ones typing up the requisitions where you work: I get it now and I’ve seen that many of times. But my apologies, but I don’t know how to help you on the other side. The phlebotomist are handed the requisitions when they’re completed from the doctors office and they normally have the codes already on them. If not, we have to call their clinic or hospital up to get the codes they wanted to use. My apologies dear. Wish I could be more of help.🤗
