Hello, I want to ask you if the patient's information in the system will tell me which gauge/needles to use before I begin or do I have to figure out what is the best gauge/needle for the patient?

Needle determination is always up to the phlebotomists discretion. You would have to look at the patients arm before deciding what needle to use normally. You can always have a needle ready to go but once you see the patients arms and feel for their veins, then you can determine what needle would give you your successful blood draw. Hope this helps
