Do they talk about what to do with the exposed pipes? Do you have to cap them in a particular way? Do you have to close or turn anything off outside? I’m planning a large closet where a bathroom is and I’m so scared of running into trouble (like sewage smell or a gas build up) after the closet is built because I missed something.

The Big Orange box store sells French Drain pipe that’s wrapped with a mesh sock. Using it would’ve saved you a step and trouble with laying that mesh

Instead of swinging that pickax, try using a good size hammerdrill/jackhammer with a large spade bit to break up that compacted clay soil

Labeling all of the baseboard trim, window casements, and various other trim mouldings along with copious photos will prove immensely helpful when reassembling the rooms.

After demoing many plaster and wood lath walls and ceilings, I’ve found it much easier to first remove the plaster and then remove the wood lath. It’s much easier to clean up debris as opposed to trying to clean plaster and lath combined.

I know it's your house but I think if I was doing it for my house I would of faced the clean out that's in the wall facing the drywall with a small cut out just for maybe ?future access even though you could take the Trap for the washing machine apart and go through it for possible future clean outs. (snaking)
