Victorians did not have recessed lighting either. I thought what you said about Victorians not having exposed beams but if you guys like it, go for it. It is on the third floor and not in the "public" areas. Victorians were famous for making the public areas showy and the private/family areas more plain. You are doing a great job!!

yes, the master will for sure be more modern than other areas of the house. plan is to make the house more modern the further up you go on the floors.

I think I would make a flat area and hang a chandelier. I agree that a beam might not fit a Victorian home.

Thomas is a friend of ours who is an electrical apprentice and is helping us out. And yes we fed them well ;)

At least, Thomas is helping and doing the majority of stripping and actually hooking up the outlets

Great progress again. I would also mount the chandelier on a flat area, because an additional beam doesn't fit optically. For cleaning or in case of an issue, you can install a small winch behind the flat area😁

Well they had ropes to lower the chandelier in the past but they never had to run electrical wire along with the chandelier… I will have to think how to solve this problem

@@TirolerInn I've seen two variants so far. One with a chain through which the cable is fed. And the other one is a cable with a wire rope inside.
