Love the '54 Chevy! Why was the rear view mirror mounted on the dash on the '53 and '54 hardtops? The sedans, convertibles and wagons mounted their rear view mirrors in the traditional location.

Good restoration....the tonneau cover should be chestnut color to match interior.....as well as carpet....should not be black......the original engine valve cover was aluminum color brushed steel...not black....spark plig wires were hunter green original.....wheel trim rings were brushed aluminum...not chrome.....minor details but big change from contour cars......still well done.

Stunning 54 Hardtop. Absolutely love it. I do have a quick question about it. You mentioned it's a power brake car, but the pedal looks like the standard one. My 54 has PS & and PB, but there's a treadle-vac booster with master cylinder right where it would be on more modern cars. Also, my brake pedal comes from the top and says Power Brake on it. Are you running an aftermarket form of power brakes or something?

Just imagine that you bought a cool '54 like this one in the summer of '54.....then..you saw the 55's in the Fall of 54!!! Yikes!!

Yeah! The '55 looked so much better IMHO!

Loved the two toning on the 53-55 Bel Air. Hardtops not rare in that era, in fact the Bel Air name came from the first hardtop in 1950. My memory a lot better than this guy, but I lived a half mile from the Flint Chevy Plant in 1954. The truckloads from Fisher Body to Chevrolet, drove right past our street. Bel Air hardtop production numbers. 1953 99,047 1954. 66,378 1955 185,562 A drop off in '54, for sure, but hardly rare. In '55 the hardtop exceeded the number of two door sedans, in the Bel Air line, by 17,000.

My '56 tbird drove like a waterbed when i first got it. New suspension and sway bars front and rear with added rear leaf springs make it really nice driving. The continental kit spare is useless and a big pain. A full size spare and hydraulic aluminum jack is in the trunk. Yeah everyone loves this car!!

I’m an aging IT professional and like you opted for a refurbished Studio Display (w/VESA mount option). My eyes thank me for the purchase. The reason I chose VESA is for flexibility between my standing and sitting positions. The height adjustable stand just doesn’t offer the versatility I need. The 60Hz refresh rate is because Apple set out to make a “Thunderbolt” display and at the time Thunderbolt 3/4 can only do 60Hz at 5K. The webcam is pretty good, I know it’s been blasted on the internet countless times, but based on the number of MS Teams meetings I’ve attended, it’s performed admirably compared to other members of my company. My only complaint is that Apple didn’t design the display to easily change mount options once purchased. I had to wait several months for the VESA option to show up in the Refurbished section and now that I want a second display, have to check the store constantly. Oh well, good things come to those who wait.

The first family car I remember was a beige or khaki 51 Ford Tudor with a velvet textured roof line. I think I was one or two years old, so it is one of my earliest memories. I was born in 1951, and ever since I came to adulthood, I have wanted to get one of these. My first car as a teenager was a 1954 Ford Fordor Customline, also 6 volt, three speed, and the newer Y block V8. Bought it for $25 from an old farmer who was one of the first men to settle in our area.

Beautiful car, however the 1969 first year of production is the one to own
@lloydc37424 ай бұрын
My first car was a 1951 2-Dr Sedan with a 226 cu in six. The six had 95 hp compared to 100 hp for the flathead 239 cu in V8. But the six had more torque. From 0 to 45 mph I could beat a flathead V8 but from 45 mph up to 70 mph they would catch up and pass me. The six had a long stroke and did not like high RPM. The V8 had some issues. Despite two water pumps they overheated. They were prone to cracking between the cylinders. The exhaust was poorly designed with one side going underneath to link to the other side exhaust, so hot rodders went to dual exhaust. The six manifold could only accommodate a one barrel carb so they were not hot-rodded. The straight six runs pretty smooth too.
