I’m a higher rate tax payer so I get shafted to begin with, then shafted on CGT for hard work and risk on crypto gains and trading, and if I gift some of that to my family they get taxed too. If that wasn’t bad enough, seeing CGT rise any further before the end of this bull market would give me enough reason so leave and cash it in another country with little to no CGT. What rate would you be taxed if you don’t work and don’t have an income? Still the 10/20%? Etc or are you allowed an allowance of £12500 then pay tax? Or is CGT a standalone and it doesn’t matter if you’re working or not?
