He is charismatic man when he teaches, pleasant speaker in interviews, but a nightmare fighter for those who fought and underestimated him or did not have his great value. He is a role model in sports but also as a person. We started training according to his principles not for fighting in the cage but for the daily hardships. OSU

@ maybe not originally, but they do it in Brazil. Just like all the other martial arts that do it, it’s a way to keep people invested and motivated. The Muay Thai “black belt” usually takes 10 years of training in Brazil.

There may be specific schools with their own ranking system but in the sport itself, no belts or ranks exist apart from how highly ranked one is as a competitor. Muay Thai, along with boxing and kickboxing, is a ring sport. Development in Muay Thai is traditionally centered around competition, rather than competition being an aside as it is in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, or even Jiu Jitsu. Therefore, any ranking system that exists for Muay Thai is entirely made up by whichever school or association it falls under. “Don’t Water Down an Art”

I’d love to see Charles using more of that switch kick in his fights. If that connects with the liver that’s doing some serious damage. His Muay Thai technique is elite level he could compete in a Muay Thai fight and it would look like he’d been doing it for years. Such an elite, all round fighter! It is a challenge to find Nico a sparring partner that's as tall or similar in reach as Nabil Anane. The range of punches and kicks, not to mention elbows and knees, makes a challenge to come up with a strategy against a tall opponent that has height and reach advantage in Muay Thai. To solve the challenge, that is Anane is a huge level up.

Nico is amazing, but as Gabriel Varga said after analyzing the fight, Nico felt safe at range where he wasn't, Nabil's reach is just freakish. Nico still destroyed Nong-o, Muangthai & Samapetch, if there's a fighter who can learn & rebuild, it's him. If he were to rematch Nabil, he shouldn't play the patient game on the outside where Nabil could tag him, rather he should blitz like Superlek did & dig to the body. Respect to the Scots, proper warriors !

Lerdsila is a legend in his own right. He is one of the best Femur fighter like Saenchai and Karuhat Sorsupawan, but you can really see how he respects his Pee Mart
