It is a beautiful Russian Ballet and music performed by the National Ballet of Canada. Why is it in German? What has Germany to do with it?

At least the chinese dance is improved with green and red color coding and the lead dancer is dressed as a cricket.

Can someone please explain to me why many people have stated that the chinese choreography from Balanchine is not racially appropiate and actually extremely offensive? it is something that I've heard from many people and I would love to read your thoughts on that.

I watched a version of this, staged by The National Ballet of Canada, with the world renowned dancer Eric Bruhn as Dr. Coppelious. Bruhn was artistic director of the ballet at the time. His riveting performance has never left my mind. Great performances can do that.
