In Russia, tzarist, communist - or other - there would have been no issue. Ruskies would make a quick use of tommy-guns, make the "plaintiffs" rest and dream in a collective pit. This is how things work in that empire. I actually liked the manners and attitude of the judge. The "defendants" acted like gentlemen too.

A powerful speech by James Baldwin that remains torched in my mind forever, forcing one's mind to wake up today to what is evitably true now in 2024 and what was true then. "If you are afraid of it, walk toward it." Mr. Baldwin, if you could see now in 2024, you sir, predicted the weather with facts to those possibilities what might happen if we did not listen.

"Know your own history in the back of you. Face it now. "Who are you now," " I'm discovering who I am not. I want to be a good writer, pray for me, and pray for rain." Who interviewed who? Is that Cadillac going to buy you happiness? Powerful observation of the growth of who are "we" today in 2024, both black and white, Latino, Puerto Rican, Carribean , Hatian, Hawaiian, Native indian, Chinese, Japanese, Jewish whatever race or color, religions, or none. Be on the right side of history with indomitable courage with a moral compass knocking on your door. (I make a great homemade watermelon cake.) Pure breed or mixed breed adoration for standing up to greed or may we have the possibility of standing for the truth to do right with its suffering. Face the suffering and ge on the other side of the tracks. American Imperialism and colonization and world histories. "Who are you now."Indeed, well, I'm able to talk about myself, discovering who I am not. I want to be an honest man and a good writer.I don't know if anyone gets to be who he wants to be, who he wants to be, play it by ear, and pray for rain. The great minds of StudsTerkel and James Baldwin . They have been on my list since I was a child. " Who are we in 2024?" With deep appreciation and reverence for Studs Terkel and James Baldwin. 🙏❤️🌍🌏🌎🌿🕊🎵🎶🎵✨️💫✨️

Mr. Boondocks wasn’t wrong. Didn’t know he admired communist Cuba that much though. For all his smarts it’s surprising he didn’t know that Che and Castro were CIA assets aside from psychopaths. Or he does know which is more concerning. I agree with fighting the system from within but he seemed to be drifting into a far more concerning area of power which is “what fills the vacuum that has been left?”. His admiration for Che especially scared me. The French and Cuban revolution seemed like the right and noble thing to do (mainly because it was fed to the people by the real power structure) until the power vacuum was filled and then they just started slaughtering innocent people and promoting themselves as idols. Though I believe it’s important to have radical thoughts and revolutionary ideas at times I don’t know if I’d like his behind the curtains.

so ur saying the French and Cuban revolutions were bad? u seem to make sense but I''m not quite getting you
@drewpd7
@drewpd7 10 күн бұрын
Most certainly I’m saying the Cuban revolution was insanely bad. The French Revolution might’ve had good points at its origin but it quickly devolved into chaos as a power vacuum was filled with unqualified psychopaths who immediately took their new found power and abused the shit out of it resulting in the deaths of so many innocent people. And then eventually was organized under Napoleon who then crowned himself emperor. Which also failed and ended with the monarchy returning to the throne. What I’m saying is you have to be very careful with revolution. If you want to change the power structure especially in an immediate fashion, as was the case in both Cuba and France, you’re almost certainly going to end up with a catastrophe of epic proportions. I agree with the speaker that it is of paramount importance that his people better themselves and rebrand culturally ASAP to better themselves and relations with the other races they share a country with. But then when he starts in with the revolutionary spirit and mentions Cuba a few times I don’t think he just means getting better job opportunities and living situations. It sounds like he means full take over. I don’t care what race you are. History has shown what happens when you forgo more organic assimilation and just uproot the old and replace it swiftly the results typically lead to war and civil unrest and a lot of death. It’s too radical.

@@drewpd7 okay I get you now,.. there is a guy by the name of Myles Munroe who did a sermon to that effect.. i never got to watch it fully, but it was about how all change isn't necessarily good and revolutions can make things worse etc...etc. etc change is better when it is organic
