There's such a plethora of horror books published from the 70s-90s, I'm sure there are several hidden gems among. I'll occasionally embark on this journey to find them, and I still have many in my PC I have yet to read - but a lot of the time it seems like the stories don't live up to the eye catching covers. A couple of recs for you: Lisa Cantrell's The Manse and Sins of the Flesh by Jay Davis, see you are reading that vampire one by them now - I definitely wanted to check that out but I'll wait for your feedback on it lol

what I remember jon saying was something like "we're looking at the worst episodes". It isn't him saying the whole series is bad. Its that those ones were the worst in his opinion

As highlighted in the discussion, I acknowledged he said its the weakest. But point was the said at the end of his Part 2 video that the “show fails to capture the magic of the books” Then he made his Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes where he reviewed the “the first 3 episodes” which included 2 famous good ones, which made the Goosebumps show look in a more negative light. He should have compared the worst episodes in Goosebumps vs worst episodes in Dark, or first 3 vs first 3 to be more fair to each show, which inherently discredits the great things the Goosebumps show imo has managed to capture. So this video is less about his opinion, more about the coverage was on unequal grounds

I think his review is reflective of those episodes in general. I mean they’re really bad. 😂 But it’s not the entire show. I mean all of the specials were great, Chillogy, Creeps, all that.

Sure I’d agree with him there, but same time Don’t Go To Sleep and Ghost Beach try to tighten up the plots compared to the books which is a valiant effort And as mentioned, he reviewed “the worst” episodes of Goosebumps but then covers the first 3 episodes of Are You Afraid of Dark, which makes that show look better despite its flaws which rival and sometimes are worst than Goosebumps😂

Thanks for reviewing one of the 3 in the Thrillogy little booklets. As a kid, I collected one that got the worst reviews called Don't Make Me Laugh (maybe from a chips brand or a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell.) It was alright but I still enjoyed it as a kid way back in the '90s for a little mini book you'd get from a snack box/chip bag haha

Hell yeah, man! So glad you loved it so much! I thought both stories were really fun-Keene is a freaking master. There’s no one writing books like he and Maberry. It’s a shame they both switched to writing fantasy, now (even though I’ll probably read both of their new stuff, anyway lol). Thanks for the shoutout! Can’t wait to see your reaction to The Rising and Darkness On The Edge of Town! Just make sure you buy both The Rising and City Of The Dead, because you’ll be pissed if you don’t have City ready to go right when you finish Rising lmao.

If there was any character I couldn't stand, it was Andie from the Monster Blood books. She knows how bad the monster blood is, but the t*** keeps coming back with more monster blood to show off, and lo and behold, crap happens. Evan should have just told her to get lost.

Wicked ending for sure. I think I had this built up too much, over hyped for months before I finally saw it but was still very good. I liked it was also in real time, only an hour to 2 hours for one late night talk show unfolding in one evening for the span of the movie.

Agreed with every single thing you said in the vid, man-excellent job with it. KZbin just keeps slapping all of us in the face over and over gain. I’m getting to the point, with my other channels, that I almost want to go ahead and do whatever I want with the content, because KZbin doesn’t seem to be doing any of us any favors, now. The algorithm seems broken (or fixed), lately.
