I like the way you play. You show that you can get a down-air spike when you are the one who is being edge guarded, and I don’t see much stage spikes from other players.

Imo you respect a ledge hanging opponent a bit to much
@notsure71585 жыл бұрын
Found most of the time it's better in bracket to just react to ledge hop and neutral get up. I've found I'm just wasting frames if I were to dtilt an enemy who just grabs ledge since it wont 2frame an initial get up anyways
@thebee03205 жыл бұрын
I haven't really considered that. I like to use dtilt just to setup the spacing for a nair trap and also to sometime psyche the opponent out (it can two frame sometimes and I've also hit a few neutral getups, but that isn't enough to be worth on its own). Your approach is understandable, it probably conditions your opponent better, mine just conditions ledge hang and then pick an option after nair is done. That's actually an idea I haven't really thought about
@notsure71585 жыл бұрын
@@thebee0320 How I look at edge guarding with marth in particular is dtilt is a trap for marth mains in ultimate. The move wont 2 frame an initial ledge grab unless the character model clips through the stage. If there's a chance of clipping, I'd rather opt for an fsmash or ftilt personally tbh. I do like the nair trap as well but I like to just fast fall it on get up since it lingers and send them at a fuck you angle So when pressuring, I save frames and keep my space by seeing how they like to get up. If you practice it, you can 1 frame with ftilt tipper at a safe range if you know they like to normal get up for an easy kill. If they like to get up buffer shield, shield breaker or grab is what I like to do. Basically imo I think there's so many things that keep pressure other than dtilt, but mixing up with dtilt to catch ledge hop or fast fall rising arial is a good mix up on characters like cloud. Obviously whatever works for you is what you should do, but methodical pressure punishing get up options and all the mix ups is something I would say is worth learning
