ALSO, I don't have access to the community tab, so which style of song would you guys prefer? Also do you like these tourney clips more or ones vs casuals?

I've been focusing on using ftilt more and I've noticed a better tournament experience. I'm going to try and use nair auto cancelling at ledge and see how that goes.

Hey I'm just some random.guy watching your video (nice one btw) and I have got a question: just based off of this montage, there is a reason to play Marth over Lucina right?
@notsure71585 жыл бұрын
IMO, Marth just feels better to me than Lucina. I can do a real quick comparison (all my opinion btw): Marth Pros: -Kill confirms as low as 24% -Down smash and neutral B hit below stage ledge -More range in general -You can 2frame through the stage with his down air (check my first montage vs cloud) -Forward tilt is amazing Cons: -If you don't know your kill confirms/tipper range, enemies can get to 200% -Takes A LOT of investment -You have to micro space constantly -Requires an insane amount of patience Lucina Pros: -Can be super aggressive -Consistent damage -Fast -Much easier tourney experience -Better sharking potential Cons: -Everyone knows the match-up at tournies -Shorter range -No super low kill confirms -No dtilt into down smash confirm If you put in the skill and keep consistent, Marth will reward you heavily. If you're trying to climb fast in tournies though, Lucina is just the easier pick. There'll also be times when I play Lucina and wiff a fsmash and think "Man, with Marth that would have been a tipper kill".

@@notsure7158 You right. Marth has a bit better ledge trapping too. I think that the extra range that he has actually allows him to hit ledge hang and dodge more getup attacks with down tilt than lucina. That and the nair setup that they can do at the ledge guaruntees tippers

I mald a lot playing marth but I’ve been pretty dedicated towards him because of playing him in smash 4 and since brawl but the other day I just got really tired of playing him and switched over to Lucina for a couple days and the changes are pretty instant. One way I like to picture it is when you’re downtilting ledge as marth you’re not going to gimp unless you tipper it, versus Lucina where you can be at any spacing and have it still kill. It’s stuff like that which made me realize just how hard it is to work around Marths sourspots. Really depressing I’m probably going to gravitate back to him but I guess one more thing I have to say is, like my first ultimate tournament I played at I went all marth and lost to someone 2-0 after I was 10 wins no losses in smash 4, one week later I beat him at my second tournament as a Lucina main 2-0. It’s just Lucinas knockback is good enough that Marth’s tipper seems like a novelty really. Again I’m not dropping him really it’s just something to take note of.

Imo you respect a ledge hanging opponent a bit to much

Found most of the time it's better in bracket to just react to ledge hop and neutral get up. I've found I'm just wasting frames if I were to dtilt an enemy who just grabs ledge since it wont 2frame an initial get up anyways
@thebee03205 жыл бұрын
I haven't really considered that. I like to use dtilt just to setup the spacing for a nair trap and also to sometime psyche the opponent out (it can two frame sometimes and I've also hit a few neutral getups, but that isn't enough to be worth on its own). Your approach is understandable, it probably conditions your opponent better, mine just conditions ledge hang and then pick an option after nair is done. That's actually an idea I haven't really thought about

@@thebee0320 How I look at edge guarding with marth in particular is dtilt is a trap for marth mains in ultimate. The move wont 2 frame an initial ledge grab unless the character model clips through the stage. If there's a chance of clipping, I'd rather opt for an fsmash or ftilt personally tbh. I do like the nair trap as well but I like to just fast fall it on get up since it lingers and send them at a fuck you angle So when pressuring, I save frames and keep my space by seeing how they like to get up. If you practice it, you can 1 frame with ftilt tipper at a safe range if you know they like to normal get up for an easy kill. If they like to get up buffer shield, shield breaker or grab is what I like to do. Basically imo I think there's so many things that keep pressure other than dtilt, but mixing up with dtilt to catch ledge hop or fast fall rising arial is a good mix up on characters like cloud. Obviously whatever works for you is what you should do, but methodical pressure punishing get up options and all the mix ups is something I would say is worth learning
