Jimmy, I am Rita's grandson and Im curious, how did you acquire Harry? We donated him to ventriloquist central so he could be preserved after she passed away.

As soon as seeing the hands, I knew it was a Rickie Tik!! They are my favorite Marshall face. I own an original Rickie Tik from the late 60s and he is my favorite figure I own. I agree with your opinion, they are the perfect size figure, I love mid-side figures!

Absolutely. If you are good with crafting and you learn (there are lots of tutorials online) you can surely do it yourself. It's not frankly my main strength nor do I have the time to do it, so I choose to collaborate with others who specialize in their particular crafts.

I would like to be a ventriloquist but with a ventriloquist dummy similar to the Billy doll from dead silence and Charly mckurthy but it is difficult to get a dummy in Spain and I would like one without a thread If not with the pegs and classic
@JimmyVee8 ай бұрын
When I was young, I did too. I started with a cloth hand puppet and ultimately grew into a professional dummy as I learned more and started making more money. Today I use both.

@@JimmyVee Like me, ventriloquist dummies are difficult to find in Spain nowadays, there are none abroad.
@JimmyVee8 ай бұрын
@@joseramonroldanlinares I'm not familiar with any direct figure makers in Spain. But Celia Munoz is a vent in Spain and one Spain's Got Talent. She uses a Maher vent figure. She most likely bought online but I'm not sure. Obviously online is going to be the easiest place to find figures but there might be figure makers in Spain and or even someone who could build one. If you're on Facebook you should join groups related to vent figures and figure building. World Vents and Ventriloquist Workshop are too big ones.

Back then, before we had more convenient materials for cushioning and stuffing (such as polyfil), a common material used was excelsior. It’s very fine wood wool, basically just very long wood shavings bunched up (kind of similar to straw, but thinner). That’s what Marshall would have likely used to stuff the torso and limbs. Perhaps he also used wood shavings from his carving, but from what I’ve felt on my own Marshalls, it definitely feels more like excelsior. It was also commonly used in children’s stuffed toys back then. If you ever pick up a vintage teddy bear and squeeze it, it may also have that stiff and crunchy feel to it.
@JimmyVee8 ай бұрын
yes, I have a few Marshal's with that in them.
