I tell my bros, who are creatives, all the time to PLEASE be more mindful when networking and Certain sentences should be completely removed from their mind, FOR EXAMPLE, “I already know that.” One of the best ways to make someone with wisdom, who is way more experienced than you, to zip up and go, “Okay.” And stop giving you vital information. It’s the hand-squeeze test from your grandmother. Don’t let what you already have, keep you from what you could have received. Squeeze a stone, and miss out on a diamond.

The minute the vibe starts to feel like, “I’m talking just to talk,” time to get the parachute. There is so much work to be done and Life is way too short to argue or debate with anyone who isn’t even the least bit fact based, or interested in hearing facts. Not debating anyone about their theories or emotions lol, not even The Homies.

I’m the same way Mecc. I can relate on how I represent myself consciously….Being as a Chicago kid, and the reason being, for example: by not going to funerals anymore because I can’t see myself having your last moment of people I’m close with… not looking like them; not even the casket itself. My family will put guilt on me because I chose not to traumatize myself and I’m fine with it & accept it. Especially me and my big brother, he remind me of Math Hoffa, we got love for each other; however, we go back and forth because I see myself as a leader, and he sees himself as a boss. That’s why we clash at times.

MrMecc with all due respect ✊🏿 i very much enjoy your takes and knowledge and information you bring to whatever platform you’re on I truly do. When you say hip-hop isn’t a young man’s sport it doesn’t add up. You see hip-hop artists may grow in age and catering to their fans is the most logical thing but artist is never wanted to cater to their fans. Music is so contagious. You want to talk to the world. How could we expect André 3000 to make music for 1/2 of hip-hop and for someone to be as big as him as an artist legendary how could we expect him to take a backseat to a 21 year old Dr. Seuss cat in a hat artist. Just imagine the process dedication. It may take for Andre 3000 to get in a zone and now we ask him to play back up to someone who went viral for two words that’s not fair. I would rather see our legendary artist gracefully bow out, then keep getting traded to other teams putting on other jerseys, figuratively speaking

Respectfully, everything after “when you say Hip-Hop isn’t a young man’s sport” made no sense to me. Hip-Hop is contagious but only half will understand what he’s saying? Who’s asking him to take a back seat to anyone? And Hip-Hop is not a sport at all. One is mostly physical which is limited and the other is mostly mental which is unlimited. Any analogy conflating the two is inaccurate. Hip-Hop is a culture, and you don’t age out of culture.
