I found this for $499. Is it worth it? I am considering returning and hunting for something else, like Gaggia or something better.

Looking forward to your full review! About ready to pull the trigger based on another review I watched. And there is something about the aesthetic on this that really appeals to me (don't care about the name, it's silly to let that get in the way). Will just need to decide on which grinder too...

I can't find many reviews on this model, but maybe you guys will know... Is the Delonghi Maestosa still worth the price tag in 2025? (In Australia it's A$2800) are there better alternatives now as it is a 5 year old machine, but it is a very high metal/glass build quality from what i've found online and still seems to be one of their flagship models. It seems similar to the Jura J8 Twin but at a slightly cheaper price point, J8 Twin is A$3699 here
@dancoways4 күн бұрын
is it actually made in Italy? - because their first model of this design, the super auto bean to cup (BCC02), was actually just a rebranded cheap Beko coffee machine (Beko CEG5311X) which came out about 2 years before the Smeg one and was made in Turkey, I returned mine after 2 days because it was awful, and they were charging double what the Beko one was for the same machine just a different badge.
@ecscoffeeinc4 күн бұрын
Yes. Smeg owns La Pavoni and they are incorporating some of the La Pavoni tech into the Smeg brand. Made in Italy:) The Super Auto was NOT made in Italy. That may be changing also,. Stay tuned
@dancoways4 күн бұрын
@@ecscoffeeinc thanks for the info. Unfortunately, after my experience with multiple Smeg bean to cup machines, as well as a fridge and their kettles, I wont be paying for any more Smeg products, perhaps nice design but unfortunately build quality is not up to scratch with their pricing. It's a shame because the design language is nice. Though i still question their "in house" design of the Bean to cup because its an almost 1:1 replica of the Beko, released 2 years before hand, I'm not sure we can say Beko copied the Smeg one. Which also makes me question the in house design of this model, given that apart from the front changing, again, it's almost exactly like the original bean to cup and the Beko machine.

Power button is in the back ??? Then again, people buy SMEG for the aesthetics, not for their usability.
@ecscoffeeinc2 күн бұрын
Agree..a loot of their items for the look more than anything ...but... They own La Pavoni which knows Espresso and use their parts in this machine...so it is getting better than just aesthetics going forward

Thank you for detailed explanation, it helps alot! Can I ask you one more question? Does the E4, which uses 16g of beans, produce a stronger espresso than the ENA4? Do the three coffee beans shown on the screen indicate the maximum amount of beans? It’s important to me whether I can make ristretto with the E4, so I’m curious if I can adjust the amount of water extracted.
@ecscoffeeinc5 күн бұрын
Yes the E4 will produce a stronger flavour of espresso and the amount of water is programmable! The number of beans indicates the amount of coffee being ground/the strength

Does it use standard E61 portafilters? Can a bottomless one be purchased separately that will fit it?
@justmemikey5 күн бұрын
0:28 she says it uses an E61
@lharris5jrКүн бұрын
@@justmemikey 1:45 she shows it from the bottom. Standard E61 has the grouphead ears in line with the spouts, this one has them offset more like a Gaggia style. So maybe one will fit with the handle at an angle, or it won't. I just haven't heard anyone yet say what aftermarket ones were tested as fitting. Some are E61 style, but proprietary so you have to buy from them. (Meraki for example)

I have owned a linea mini for almost 6 years (2019). Updated my old version of the linea mini with retrofitkit in 2021 so I could use the app. (Set the temp en pre brewing and etc). Only remorse I had is that I purchased a different machine vefore (because it had similar specs for less money). My linea mini offers rock solid performance and is simply a joy to use each day. If you are happy with a different machine please enjoy. Great that there are so many options out there. All I know is that I enjoy great coffee everyday. Paired with a mahlkonig ek43s I don't think I will be in the market for new gear... Just wanted to share my experience with la marzocco for comparison (they must be doing something right considering their reputation). Also the connectivity with app works fine and is very handy to use (making sure my machine is warm when I arrive at home). My two cents

@@ecscoffeeincHi again, well I'm absolutely loving this machine! There was only one problem that I'd forgotten when I ordered it.... I'm useless at frothing milk 😂 a couple of tutorial videos later and I'm frothing like a champ. I haven't used the grinder yet as I have plenty of prep ground coffee, but at the rate I'm going that'll run out quickly. There are only two things I wish were better, well for me that is. 1. I wish the steamer extended out a little further to the front. 2. The frother control knob really could do with a more positive stop when moving it to the off position. A couple of times it has gone past the off position to the hot water position. Otherwise absolutely loving it. Thanks for the insightful review.
