nice video, i just wish we could go back to the old times with an all in one, which we can split across the keys, i cant afford keep buying more gear, also dont have space . just 1 modern keyboard synth sampler workstation is all i ask for, come on novation , you are the people to make it happen .

Is there not a velocity setting for the piano keys? I see there is for the pads. but it is frustrating to use band lab, and i have to play it hard to get decent sound. I shouldnt. have to adjust the volume. or only use the pads. Hope someone can let me know, until then im gonna keey looking.

Not quite. The Launchkey Mk4 Logic Pro integration, shown here, will require version 10.8.1 or later but creative features such as the Arpeggiator and three Chord Modes, are built-in to the hardware and available for use with most DAWs.

Thanks for your interest! We'll see what we can do about that. As you may know, Launchkey MK4 features dedicated integration with FL Studio version 21 and later. In addition to standard DAW control, which allows Launchkey MK4 to work with most DAWs, it also offers FL Studio-specific Pad and Encoder Modes. These modes give you control over parameters like FL Studio Channel Rack, Mixer, EQ, and pan. I have the MK4 49 Keys and the velocity sensitivity is terrible and configured wrong. You have to hit the keys extremely hard to get high 120s velocities and the sensitivity settings still don't make it any better. Returning it tomorrow.

We're very sorry to hear that you encountered problems. Feedback like this is rare for us. Did you experiment with all available Velocity Curves? You can select from Soft, Normal, Hard or Fixed to remove velocity sensitivity.

I've pulled the trigger on it (to put that in context, the last hardware I spent money on was the rack XV-5050, and the last actual "synth with a keyboard" was an M1)... I suppose I'll have to have it in front of me to understand how and when panel controls and saved settings/presets work in practice... conceptually, I'd almost expect a system of lighted rings/strips for knobs/sliders either showing the loaded values, if the current physical positions were "asleep"/not the same, or alternately showing the value of the unselected control in the case of shared control (example being mod EG 1/2 sliders: if EG1 is selected, the light strips would show the respective ADSR values per slider of EG2, and vice versa)... sorry, I'm giddy and rambling on.. adding such to Summit's panel absolutely wouldn't drop the price, but it certainly wouldn't be as expensive as, say, the much-coveted-but-expensive poly AT at least? ;)

We're delighted to hear that! We'd love to hear your thoughts on it once you've had a chance to fully explore it. That's an interesting idea! As you may know, Summit currently uses pickup. With pickup engaged, when working with an existing Patch, the saved values of pots and faders will be displayed on the screen. These controls need to be physically moved to the position corresponding to the saved parameter for the currently loaded Patch. The parameter value will only change once the control reaches that position.

No, this is the Launchkey [Mk3]! Launchkey Mk4 introduced new features like Chord Map mode with 40 chord banks that adapt to the selected scale, offering a variety of ways to trigger and perform chords creatively

I got my unit yesterday and it's really an amazing controller. The only thing I found a bit annoying is how 'slow' the knobs are.... It takes like 4-5 motions to go for minimum value to max - so a full filter sweep is for example is very tricky to make. this behavior really makes performing with it a bit meh... - is here any way to change this behavior of the knobs?

The Launchkey Mk4 encoders feature an accelerated response, meaning that the faster you turn the knob, the larger the increments of data sent. Currently, there isn't an option to adjust this acceleration, but we really appreciate your feedback on this.

@@NovationTV Thank you for the replay. Yeah, I noticed this behavior. It works very nice for editing - but for performance and recording dynamic modulations it is not accurate and consistent enough. It would be awesome if you could somehow implement an option to change this behavior - like a new mode for performance or maybe an option to choose between different curves of speed - like the curves for velocity for example. other than that - its really awesome!

Launchkey is a MIDI controller, so it doesn't produce sound on its own. It can be used to control software on both Mac and Windows PCs, and it can also connect to hardware such as synthesizers and grooveboxes. When it comes to software, Launchkey comes bundled with everything you need to get started, including Ableton Live Lite, which offers dedicated integration for Launchkey. If you don't want to use Ableton Live, Launchkey [Mk3] also benefits from integration with Cubase, Logic, Reason, and FL Studio plus out of the box functionality with other DAWs including Studio One and Pro Tools, via HUI.

It can be used to play plug-in instruments in FL Studio but integrates best with Ableton Live - it comes bundled with Ableton Live Lite so you should have everything that you need to get started. Great question! While the original Circuit featured a small built-in speaker, the Circuit Tracks doesn't have one. However, you can easily connect a portable powered speaker to its outputs if you'd like.

I have the mk4 mini 37. Can you only control the first 8 tracks in the mixer? I can't see a way of moving down to control the volume of track 9 onwards

It is wonderful. But now if you add external synth to midi 1 and 2 midi massages will be transmitted there only after recording (not during playing), however circuit tracks will recive it. We need an update!

That's correct - the MIDI Thru repeats the MIDI input, but the MIDI Out does not. This is standard behavior for MIDI chains, but we appreciate your feedback on this!

Whilst FLkey still offers the deepest level of control of FL Studio, Launchkey MK4 also benefits from dedicated integration and benefits from a Plugin Encoder Mode, which lets you adjust up to eight parameters of a focused plugin, with preset mappings for native plugins and customisable controls for third-party ones. Mixer Encoder Mode which gives control over the Channel Rack, Mixer, and EQ with five pages for volume, pan, and frequency adjustments and a DAW Pad Mode maps the pads to select and trigger up to 16 channels in the Channel Rack, with each pad lighting in the corresponding channel colour.

@ Thanks for reaching out, I was able to fix it yesterday. I just did a factory reset from the Components software and it works now. Yes everything else was behaving as normally, playing notes, controlling CC, and even the Program Change feature. For some reason it’s like the update needed a reset for the new features to work.

Hi!I have 2 questions.I'm thinking about this between SL 49 MK3.Wich one has a better key feel?I liked Launchkey mk3 feel.Both keyboard gonna work with my older osx 10.9.5?

It's great to hear that you're considering these options! The SL MkIII and Launchkey 49/61 MK4 use a very similar custom key mechanism and perform almost identically. However, there is a difference in key profile: the SL MkIII has a synthesizer-style key profile, while the Launchkey 49/61 MK4 features a Waterfall-style key profile. The key mechanism used on the Launchkey 25 and 37 MK4 is quite similar to the one found on the Launchkey MK3. If you enjoyed working with the MK3, you’ll feel right at home with these models. Regarding compatibility, the Launchkey MK4 has not been extensively tested with OS X 10.9.5 due to its age and therefore isn't officially supported. However, since the Launchkey MK4 is USB class-compliant, it may be able to transmit MIDI successfully for use with software.

@@NovationTV Thanks for the quick answer! I've tried a few midi keyboards and I liked yours because they're high-quality, but I especially liked the key bed. Before that, I had an Akai Mpk49, but it was too hard for my hands, I didn't like it. The Arturia Keylab Mk2 can also be considered, but I haven't tried it live yet never. I definitely want the 49-key version, so I'm not interested in the smaller version, but that's good to know. The SL49 is more serious than the Launchkey MK4, which does not have aftertouch (only on the pads). However, the Launchkey MK4 is new, the SL49 is a 5-year-old model. This is the reason why I am a little afraid to buy the SL49. If I understood correctly, the key feel is more serious/better on the SL49(like Launchkey mK4), but it works from an adapter, not USB. Dear Novation, which one would you choose if you were me?

Apologies for the delayed reply! SL MkIII and Launchkey MK4 are both solid choices but they are quite different in terms of features and functionality. Launchkey is primarily a DAW controller that can also control hardware. In contrast, the SL MkIII is designed to be the central hub for controlling and sequencing hardware and software in a setup that combines both. Launchkey is indeed USB bus-powered whilst SL MkIII is mains-powered. If you require a keyboard with aftertouch, a more advanced sequencer and enhanced external hardware control, SL MkIII is a solid choice. While it may be a few years old, it's still very much a part of our current range of products.
