Hello from 2024 - can a nato or MN strap be used on these please?
@BlairWatchProject13 сағат бұрын
I am uncertain about the MN (because I don't know what that is), but a nato works fine.

how much will it take to repair my seiko 6138-3005 watch
@scdevon7 күн бұрын
Nice work. I would add that a lot of the "slop" in the barrels on these movements is due to the barrel itself. Worn barrel lid holes and barrel drum pivot holes are at least as much of an issue as the "jewel upgrade" ports. Don't you ever need to "punch up" the barrel holes with a closing punch and broach back to size? I find it necessary on almost 100% of these barrels if you want to reuse the barrel. Fixing the barrel holes alone reduces a significant amount of the play unless the port holes are totally smoked.
@BlairWatchProject7 күн бұрын
Yes. I always "tighten" the barrel ports when they are loose. Makes a big difference.

I'm aware of this watch and Dr. T from a Vintage Seiko group, and I've had a crush on this Pogue since I first saw it. Then hearing about how long ago he was gifted it, the excellent backstory and the different watch industry big wigs that have met the watch, puts its story over the top! Very cool to see it being serviced, thanks for uploading this. And thank you Dr. Ticzon for sharing the story of your awesome watch with the world. I think it would be worthy of inclusion with other greats like The Eisenhower Day-Date, Col. Pogue's actual Pogue, Ed Mitchells GMT etc..

You are don’t use any oil to lubricate movement, is it really not necessary?

How do i find a good person who knows how to service this 6309 model and has seals, etc?
@LurchLuresАй бұрын
Fitting new parts makes a watch refurbished not fake. My old porsche has had 3 new windscreens , about 10 sets of tyres and brake pads and a new set of alloys. Its still a porsche. Hands on watches fade, and lume goes off , dials fade and corrode, crystals get scratched. They are not going to last forever and these are 50 year old watches. If the movement is made by seiko, the case was made by seiko and the dial was made by seiko its a seiko.

Unfortunately the Seiko community disagrees with this assessment.
