I really don't mind these fellas often. Like, if I saw one in my room, I'm sorry but he's gone, but I've seen them around the house and outside and I don't have incentive to really kill them. These relatives of spiders look like spiders, but don't bite, aren't hostile to humans, and don't have the abilities to make a mess like a spiderweb. Their actually quite nice though, as they will kill flies and mosquitoes, so there's a benefit to actually leaving some in your home, they'll take care of any fly or mosquito problems.

These guys and jumping spiders are evidence that spiders wouldn't be so bad if they couldn't hurt us. Given, they also have somewhat charismatic designs, but still, just being sure they're not dangerous makes me like them a lot more.

Don’t know why, I have a crippling fear of these guys. They’re genuinely so sweet and cute but if I ever see anyone around me, I scream like I just saw the fucking 9/11 happen right in front of me

en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Daddy_longlegs&diffonly=true Here. States that it 'may refer' to harvestmen but it's not an actual term used to describe the species.
@L.S.-gm7nq2 ай бұрын
Harvestmen aren't the only arachnid named daddy long leg. Many people call actual spiders like the carpenter spider or cellar spider by the same name.

Daddy long legs must be different in America because they most definitely make their own webs over here.

They're kinda like ants to me, they don't like your regular spider too so it helps, just a bunch funny little guys that love to cramp together

ayo wtf we live in a fantsy world, imagine having a dnd adventure and one idiot touches the wall sayin "hey it looks like hair" and these longasslegs start moving around, everyone shittin themselves running around screaming "it was a monsters nest", imagine the terror on the first person that discovered this in ancient times like damn

Come to Australia, daddy long legs over here are actually spiders, and are the most venomous spider with no anti venom. They have to bite you on a wound because skin is too thick for them.... but if you do get bit, you're dead in about 20 minutes.
