This was actually a representation of what the world was likely like BEFORE the flood. All comes from a young view of history. We believe we are about 6,000 years into world history. No gap between dinosaurs and man. There's a lot of great videos about this on Answers in Genesis page. Check it out!

Good question! the Bible says "God made each one according to its KIND." God told Noah to take 2 of each KIND of land animals on the ark. Many people think that would've been millions of animals. 1. Noah didn't need to take sea creatures. 2. Answers in Genesis calculates that 2 of each kind (male and female) animals would calculate out to just less than 7,000 animals. Totally doable on a boat that size! 3. How did they gather the animals? I believe God did! Sent them all to Noah. A miracle he worked. But also they probably had a lot around them anyway. Many people believe the world was 1 continent before the flood (think, Pangea). So not that crazy to think.
