Lovely. A few grass tufts and maybe a few little patches of leafy dirt on top of the pyramid layers would make this look even more run down. For the OSL, you should add a bit of a glow on top of the pyramid, under the orb & lightning. :)

I actually did something similar! My Carnosaur is based on my favorite monster hunter monster, Savage Deviljho. Not gonna lie, really easy and it looks phenomenal. I plan on making all of my seraphon based on monsters. My saurus warriors are going to have the Rathalos color scheme, with the oldbloods having the Silver Rathalos color scheme. My skinks are going to have the Tzitzi Ya-Ku color scheme, since they have the crests. My Raptadons are going to be based on Kulu Ya-Ku, since they also have feathers and I’m pretty sure in the lore they’re egg thieves. My Kroxigor Warspawned are going to be based on Lagiacrus, since crocodile, duh. My Bastiladon is going to be based on Apceros. My Terradons are going to be based on probably the wingdrakes in the Ancient Forest map, I can’t remember what they’re called. My chameleon skinks are obviously going to be based on Pukei Pukei. And last but certainly not least, my Troglodon is going to be based on the dreaded Plesioth. Semi-aquatic, sail on the back, it just works. Amazing job on the Tigrex, by the way. Great video!

Savage Deviljho would be a fantastic paint scheme for a Carnosaur, sounds amazing! I also thought about doing my kroxigor as Lagiacrus, might even make a video about it some day. I'm so glad other people have similar ideas to making a Monster Hunter themed Seraphon army, I hope yours goes well my friend! I look forward to seeing it one day.

I would add dark brown paint into the pva glue. I allows you to bypass the first 2 layers of your paint. Dry brush, wash with different earthy colours (green/brown) and then dry brush. Good use of everyday items. You can make your own texture paste with sand/grit/mortar, pva glue and paint. Store it in an airtight tub. :)

I don't understand why paint over the initial mix
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
I’ve answered this a couple of times but it’s basically to keep it from flaking off or going bad - the paint and glue acts as a protective layer. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!

If I may, I would like to suggest you reconsider the gold parts. I know gold is pretty much a staple with seraphons, but on warm color schemes it really doesn't do much, it lacks contrast. Especially on the tigrex carnosaur, the gold basically disappears in the yellow/orangy scales. Maybe try a cold color metal, like a silver or a made up one, like a jade green.
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
This is a great suggestion, thank you! I was trying to keep it cohesive with the rest of my army but you’re totally correct, the gold can get lost very easily. I’ll have a think for my next paint scheme. Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback!

Well, given your MH streak and the size of that beast, Lao Shang Lung comes to mind, for the color scheme... wether the regular or the ashen one is up to your personal taste.
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
Lao Shan Lung is the OG, and a great suggestion. My only worry is that the scheme would be too basic! I’ll have to have a good long think on how to do it justice.

This was a great find, all hail the algorithm. Question: why spray the basing bits - they looked good ‘as is’ and seems a lot of effort to spray them and then paint them back up.
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! I decided to spray the basing bits as a layer of protection really - at the end of the day it’s still just tea leaves and herbs really so paint and glue will stop any nasty stuff growing on it
@KelstenGamingUK3 ай бұрын

Fun fact, a 3inch diameter rod can't go inside a 3inch diameter hole. If anyone doesn't believe me, go talk to any machinist or part designer. The reason you have gaps is because you are trying to fit a 1inch rod into essentially a 1inch sleeve. If you had made the holes longer, or the rods shorter, you wouldn't have had a gap unless they weren't aligned perfectly.
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
I appreciate the feedback! I actually did make the rods shorter but alas, there were still gaps. I’ll keep experimenting and hopefully my next one will have fewer gaps!

Hi great video, how do you set up a camera so it films in front of you and you are still able to work in so fine detail?
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I actually just use my iPhone, and a phone holder on a bendable arm that I clamp to the desk. That way I can film what I’m doing and change the angle if I need to. Saving up for a much better camera in the future though 🙂

the gaps are down to your pinning method. you're picking an arbitrary angle to drill, which isn't the same on both parts. its really hard to eyeball it, and there isn't a flat surface to reference a tool to. try drilling your holes a little bigger, say 4mm? that will give you some wiggle room to position the parts properly and avoid surface gaps, and the glue will fill the gaps between the pin and the parts. or you could drill the first part to 3mm, drill the second part to say 5mm, put a little green stuff into the hole and press the pin into it. should give you a perfect fit and avoid some work later down the line.
@thehobbyheap3 ай бұрын
Thanks dude, I appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately even when I dry fit the parts, they still didn’t fit together properly so I just decided to go for it. If I ever build another enormous resin model I’ll try this method instead, thank you.
