Not much as of now. I have the truck off the trailer and the cab lifted off the frame a little bit but not far enough to pull out the frame and start working on it. I don't have enough footage to post an update yet on the progress. Hopefully soon.

Yes. you probably have tan bezels. They don't really look tan though, they are more of a greenish-brown color. Almost like brownish version of Olive Drab Army green.

Awesome job man !! Every 3rd gen Dodge Ram I've owned rusts in the same exact spot. Actually, every one that I see on the road has the same rust. Many guys will cover it with the plastic wheel fender extenders. Those look ok, but I love how the body looks when it is rust free.

I never figured anyone else was ocd enough to repaint everything single hook, dvd player in the 3rd gens Good work man I did the same to my mega when I rolled and rebuilt it I have done the entire door but seeing yours I think I’m gonna copy yours. Also i highly recommend you take every circuit board from dash overhead console temp control and solder the ugly greenish ones off and I put blue and it seriously made it an entirely different truck! I did Alcantara suede headliner with my JL design logo cut foam piece and placed its between the original headliner and the suede. But main thing I wanted to mention is I had really good luck with SEM rattle can interior paint I did try both gloss and matte ended up doing the matte black but you should compare both brands for the plastics

Thanks for the info. Gonna be a bit before I can see how the paint holds up. Ya, I do want to get rid of the stock "sea green" lights. I have noticed some people saying they are having problems dimming the interior lights because they are LED. Thanks for comments, yes, I can be serious OCD sometimes.

From Alaska here as well my friend and working on changing my interior to black as well! Mine is an 2004 2006 front end swap 06 door panels only thing original is the 04 dash but decided when I get home from the slope going to start the process of painting the interior as well! How is the duplicolor holding up I’ve seen that brand and the SEM brand used as well! Boy have I had a hard time getting parts shipped up to Alaska hardest part of my project by far!

Good deal. Yes shipping can be a pain. I cannot really say on how the DupliColor is holding up because it isn't getting any wear and tear, as I am still working on the truck and not using it yet. I have parts from 04 to 09 on mine. Only thing original on the truck now will be the front and rear sections of the frame, the dash, engine, transmission and transfer case. On the slope now so it won't be until after Christmas I can get back to work on it.

how did you paint it ? what paint did you use

I scrubbed/ washed the panels clean twice. Once with ScotchBrite pads and a second time with a scrub brush. Once dry I wiped them down with acetone or Duplicolor’s prep spray, wiping clean any excess. After that it was 5-6 coats of paint. Very light spray or coating each time, but heavier coats towards the ends and allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. I used Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric in flat black.

I enjoyed watching this and your methodical process. I, too, and working on this conversion. I'm actually in the planning stages right now. Interestingly, my 2009 mega cab does not have a carrier bearing; however, I would like to have one to mitigate the potential balancing issues, in addition to driveline angles as I lift the truck. I already have the longbed QQ frame and 8ft dually bed. This has given me the opportunity to see the differences/similarities between the frames. I do have the actual frame measurements from collision software. Interested in seeing how you will approach the wiring/fuel/brake lines/e brake extensions as I believe I have decided how I'm going to do it all; just like to see how someone else tackles the same issues. Hoping to work on mine this winter (I'm in Florida)

Another difference I didn’t know about. It makes sense it would run with the longer QQLB driveline without a carrier bearing since the wheel base is exactly the same. Essentially you are just trading two feet of bed space for the mega cab, the difference from the output to the rear diff would be the same. Most of the groups I follow say they cannot make a driveline for the LBMC because it is too long and the balancing issues. Since I will not be lifting much or at all, extending the carrier bearing shaft is an easy option. For what you are talk long about for your truck, I would use a stock carrier bearing driveline and get a longer one made for the rear to keep driveline angles smaller. Love the info!

I did this to my pillars on my 4th gen and the paint didn’t last on the A-pillar handle. I followed the instructions and it still scratched off within a year. I used duplicator brand tho 🤷🏽♂️ at the time I didn’t see any other brand that was making the same kind of spray paint

Man this why I love these videos because on forum pages they say 4 door long bed is exact same frame as a mega cab short bed which here we can See they are very similar but yet not the exact same now yeah if you was to move cab mounts and a couple other things then you could just use your quad cab frame and do the rear frame section on it that way you would not have to do the front section and the back you’d only have to do one but still nice having videos like this definitely following the build as I have a mega cab but mine is gasoline lol old 5.7 hemi that I am interested in doing long bed swap on but we will see if I do it I will definitely make the dually conversion also but we will see how it goes lolol

Fun fact....the 2006 dodge ram srt10 single cab and quad cab came with the option black interior from the factory! It sucks that it wasn't an option on other trims

There are minor variations in years, but as long as it is a 4WD frame I don’t see why it would not work. The only thing you are keeping as it relates to your cab is the rearmost cab mounts.

How are the LED bulbs working? I swapped mine out and they would never fully shut off or I would have weird issues with them.

I have tested them and did not have a problem. However, I am still building the truck and have not put the interior back in the cab where I would notice something odd by driving the truck every day.

I am a little behind, the company I order my supplies from did not place my order yet as they like to order in bulk for Alaska. I am pretty picky and don’t have the stock Dodge gray matched exactly (I am very close) and don’t want to send anything out which does not meet customer expectations. I am sorry for the delay. I have more interest and orders than I expected. Stay tuned and keep your chain sharp, I will keep you posted.

How does the outer panel and inner arch attach? I’ve heard some people say the foam adhesive strip Dodge used was the culprit for the rust to begin with

I couldn't tell on this bed on how it was attached due to so much rust damage. I punched holes in the outer panel lip and welded it to the replacement wheelhouse where they marry up.
