Anyone remember when the English also fought, of course they didn't have bagpipes because they were carrying guns to fight the war

Beautiful, my father was in the resitance in the netherlands, I find out in corona time 2020 or so. he was allready past away in 2017. He never told us unfortionaly. But this kind of music make me sad an proud the same time. I visit the normandy beaches and graves. Just emotional. We also visit a german cemetary. It makes your hart cry when you see all this graves and ages on the gravestones

I like it where its cold, also. My relatives come out of scotland 1st, then to "north of there u know," and landed in northern ireland, where we became o'cunningham. We went then after a stay in the republic to canada where we are the milk farmers. Searched in my jewish history and come back to america with my mom. Thanks to all the lands that kept us. I made the game US Against THEM. Rules are, beware of armageddon! 🎉

My father was @ the Normandy Beach invasion. He described it as a relief of the 2 month boat ride b4 the landing there was no clean water to wash with. When they got to shore, they used their helmets filled with sand and somehow got water, heated it, and was the first relief b4 they started fighting the Germans again. God bless our soldiers who went thru this. They have many stories to tell of their hardships. Ime proud to be the daughter of an American Vet. 😱👾💜😿

It's sad that todays generation doesn't know or care about those heroes that fought and died so they could live in a free world. There aren't many of the "greatest generation" left and it's up to us to educate the younger folk and keep their memories alive. They lived the motto of "freedom isn't free" .

My Father drove a Scots Highland division into the last stand at Arras in 1940 on the retreat to Dunkirk. He siad that they changed into kilts, bare steel and Bagpipes and went into battle with Highland yells. He did not know how close the Germans were to them, and it was the only time he saw the germans run, when the Scors charged with bayonets and Claymors shining. Most of them never made it home.

1914 to 2023. When will the lessons be learned? Until we learn and even then for generations to come we need videos like this to remind us of sacrifice. The hope must be that sacrifice is not in vain.

And, friends, don't forget Leon Gautier, who died today, 3 July. He was the last member of the French Kieffer commando who landed as the vanguard of our boys on Sword Beach. Google "leon gautier." May he and all the French commandos who fought alongside us rest in peace with their allied comrades..
