We had 3 face to face encounters in Connecticut, two of which were in our kitchen scaring scaring the daylights out of my sister. My Father set a trap in case it returned which it did. He kept a hose turned on and sprayed it thinking it was neighborhood pranksters. For this it lunged at him and then went back into the protected Watershed property of about 2,000 acres. After this he bought a rifle and a box of ammo and kept it by the kitchen door for quite a while. We live not far from Yale University in New Haven Connecticut, not some far flung distant wilderness area or in the mountains but in Connecticut a State with a fairly well developed manufacturing and industrial base but is still considered 60% woodlands even in 2024.

You have to consider that it was nearly 50 years ago. The landscape was likely not the same. I lived in Whitehall about 4 or 5 years after the incident occurred and I do believe that it happened. I'm originally from VT and I know and have heard stories. Anyway, about the eyes...that some of these creatures have eyes that seem to have their own light has been told by many people who have seen them. As far fetched as it may seem, it could very well be true. If someone wants to be believed about their sighting, saying it had eyes that glowed won't do it 😊 My ex, when he was a teen, back in early 70s, was hitchhiking from Burlington, VT to Glens Falls, NY and along the way in the night he encountered something on the back road (either Rte 7 or 22A). It scared him and he never veered from the story he told, and back then we never even had heard of Bigfoot. We tried to figure out what did he encounter and all these years later, I believe it was Bigfoot, probably on all 4s. The road had no lights and he did say its eyes shined (I don't recall the color) but he saw color of eyes, my sister recalls it being green. Could have just been eye shine and I'm not saying it wasn't, but it was so dark he couldn't make out what was behind him when he turned around, only the glowing eyes and it made a huff. He could feel it breathe on his neck, he heard it jump down into the road and walk up behind him. When he turned he saw the eyes and started to run with his thumb out. A car did come by and stopped to pick him up and asked why he was running and my ex told him what had just happened. They guy lit a match and blew it out and asked if that was what it smelled like (this guy was also wearing a turban). Like I said, he told the story for years and never changed one iota of it. But it was in the same general area as the picture of the bigfoot bending down for apples with a baby in her arms. Along the same corridor as the crow flies to Whitehall.

This is where i had a vocalization happen, where it growled the deepest, loadest, most guttural growl i ever heard. It was back in 1989ish. I also inherited the footcasting Glenn Larose made during this incident.

Great job buddy! This video was awesome. Sorry you had to bail out early but it was the right decision. Winter camping can be dangerous, especially when things get wet and cold.
