“Because the time has finally come for me to sunset Destiny.” Alright see you on D3 release.
@skrrrtsusman345012 минут бұрын
Yeah, I only played D2 after I got all the DLC up to Warmind, and even then I thought it felt like there was just an ok amount of content, beat the campaign in like 3 and a half hours. Played through Forspoken and thought it was pretty good, then everything started getting locked away and progression felt meaningless because of light level constantly being reset essentially, making a new character meant having stronger gear than what i grinded for in previous seasons unless i upgraded my weapons. All this crap literal months after i had purchased D2. I just dropped the game completely after they started "vaulting" whole ass planets, and the excuse my friends gave me was that they were trying to remake the campaigns or that those planets were old content anyways.

Eh with the sunsetting of story content and new players not having a frame of reference for the story, the current new light experience still has more transparency than D1 on release😭. We just get revived and are expected to kill some vex gate lord just cuz. But yeah Bungie shit the bed with D2
@TickleMeSenpai57 минут бұрын
I loved the D1 demo, but when I found out how limited the maps would be, I decided to opt out, and it seems like the past 5-6 years have been really disappointing for most people who got involved
@cosmosofinfinityСағат бұрын
At first it was something special? No, I'd disagree even there; I was never impressed with it from the start. It was always just overhyped pretentious ass MMO-lite Borderlands, with less charm or depth, and then progressively kept breaking their promises, player trust, and what people loved Bungie for. Do people not remember when people beat Destiny 1 super quick and went "that was IT?" It would only seem special if you had not played Borderlands (which has all the vehicle stuff too) OR an MMO If Gearbox was more ambitious and had Borderlands 3 in the pipeline sooner, stopped being so cringe, and expanded its social features, it could've ate up Destiny's marketshare pretty good in terms of the actual gameplay substance and not just graphics/music presentation. But, instead they were milking Borderlands 2 last-gen with the Pre-Sequel, botching Aliens: Colonial Marines, developing even more cringe ass flop Battleborn, and now getting acquired then let go by shitty ass Embracer Group

"Just play Warframe, it's better and it's free" On a more serious note, I'd like to see what your genuine thoughts are on Warframe as it's one of the few refuges for players that get fed up with Destiny. Comparisons are often made between the two as well when though they're widely different games, and I think your insight would provide some unique perspective.

I unfortunately gave the destiny franchise a combined 3k hours across the two games. Even in the dark days of curse of osirus and warmind I had fun. Not because of the game but simply based on the amazing and authentic experience D1 was and I had friends to suffer and reminisce with. It blows my mind how many awful decisions they can make, and while I know this is an oversaturated take, I think the downfall of this franchise as due to choosing fortune over passion. Long live my memories with Destiny.

I stopped playing Destiny 1 when I grinded for Legendary marks, got the entire armor set...and then the next week, all that was replaced by a slightly better armor set. That I had to get more Legendary marks for. I played again two years later, played awhile, finally got the Icebreaker. Then, played Destiny 2 way too much, was still relatively disappointed, then finally quit before it went somewhat free to play. I'll never play this shit again, ever again.

As much as I love this game, I find it to be enjoyable only after a 6-18 month break. The free expansion they just dropped was awesome, it has something for everybody. However, I am not happy with the seasonal content model. It's great that all Lightfall seasons are now free, especially for me because I skipped Season of the Deep so it was like getting two content drops for completely free. On the other hand if I had paid for that season, this would not make me as happy. Even when they try to help the players, they still stab them in the back. Here's to Final Shape finally bringing our codependency to an end, whether that happens on a positive note is completely not guaranteed. The new enemy race looks great though. TWO MORE WEEKS BOOYS. P.S. IN DEFENSE OF BUNGO: The new activities with Into the Light make buildcrafting 100% necessary. With the new subclass basically just begging you to make the ultimate build, I have a good feeling that Bungie has finally learned how much we enjoy a challenge that's not a raid on contest mode.

Renn, I am so sorry to hear how much you have suffered from this service game. By the end of the video, with the sunset, I was almost on the verge of tears and understood that it wasn't about how Destiny evolved, but how you evolved. I wish you well with the grieving process. As a Destiny Outsider, I had some trouble comprehending this journey. The game material looked like pure nightmare to me from the beginning. Random looking space knights randomly bouncing around, everything flashing and sparkling and colorful numbers flying through the vacuum. Hearing you get so excited at the beginning and then seeing you get so disappointed at the end, while all I could see was a single stream of pointlessness, filled me with compassion, but also made me realize that I've gotten very, very old by now. It seems easy to advise a man not to give his heart to things that are not made to last. But then you realize that everything just passes and we have to see that it is probably the destiny of all of us that time breaks our hearts. I guess this old cowboy has rambled on enough. It's time for me to get back on my ps 1 and follow the symphony of the night again. I don't know how much longer the old girl will last. The sounds of the spinning disk are starting to sound like my lungs on a cold morning on the prairie. Anyway, we are riding west, into a land that people call "emulation". I don't know what awaits us there, but I do know that tears of farewell will be a part of it. Thank you for sharing your story and all the best to you.

I've spent alot of time playing destiny from the PS3 to ps4, I don't think I could directly point out wtf I ever accomplished or achieved in that game beyond seeing cool Environments. That's my problem with the game, it's an mmo, I don't care what people say or definitions they come up with. The refusal to accept its an mmo is why alot of it's problems exist to me, the devs refuse to look at the past of mmos. Instead they forge on feeling they're doing something new and ahead of its time. When I compare my experience with destiny and ffxiv the difference is staggering and I objectively had more fun in destiny than ARR without having any destiny expansions

I had a friend that traded me to get me back into destiny, i play destiny and he plays more Deep rock galactic. I start the season of the deep and have to travel to the helm to talk to sloan, i sit through a crappy pseudo-cutscene with her and then leave to go back to the helm and what do you know, I have to talk to the exact same npc on the holoprojector IMMEDIATELY AFTER just talking to that same npc in person. does no one look at this crap and at least ask "is this fun"

Bungie disrespects its consumer's time. That is the biggest travesty of Destiny. Nothing but FOMO. You grind gear until you finally make a build you are happy with and what happens next? They invalidate everything you farmed and grinded for by changing the gear system over and over again making you waste your time, not to mention sunsetting all your beloved gear when there was no reason to do this just so they can artificially control the "meta". Fuck them. I'll see you in Destiny 3 motherfuckers.

vid was good and obviously already long but there's so much more to go over. Marty, Destiny 1 having all DLC on the disc from launch, pre destiny 1 story being canned by activation, the ten year plan, bungie's constant layoffs. Destiny was doomed from the start. The only reason D1 was good is because most of it was produced and planned out before activation became the publisher. But when D2 started development most of the heavy hitters from bungie were gone and everyone was at Activation's will. AND THEN when bungie finally split then damage was already done, bungie wasn't bungie anymore.

I think it is very disingenuous to keep referring to content vaulting and sun setting as a malicious plan that Bungie thought up when they decided to release Destiny 2, the game is already 114GB I don't want to imagine how big the game would be with the other 3 xpacs and Red War. And the weapon sun setting is an entirely reasonable decision, the majority of the weapons being used was Recluse, mountaintop, revoker, spare rations, mind benders ambition and hammerhead and you just swapped out 1 of them for an exotic that was meta for whatever you were doing. the only thing that bungie did wrong in regards to this was bringing the weapons back. really my only gripe with bungie is giving us old stuff and saying its new like BRAND NEW VAULT OF GLASS RAID or re releasing old exotics and advertising them as 2 BRAND NEW EXOTICS THE WHISPERER OF THE WORM AND OUTBREAK PERFECTED
