We live in the Eastern part of the state Tornadoes are pretty uncommon here especially anything EF3+ I don’t think there’s even been one that strong around here. But it’s def one of my if not my biggest fear. We live in a double wide no storm shelter, no sturdy buildings near by (minus a DG about 15 minutes away) live in between 4 mountains/big hills our only safe option is a culvert running under the pavement but if flooding is accompanying it then that’s out to. The odds of something as strong as that hitting here are rare but never 0 so every severe storm or tornado warning we get has my anxiety tore all to hell.

Its crazy to think that if the tornado continued on it most likely would've been given EF5 rating from the damage in greenfield knowing when it showed the damage there were multiple houses where it was only concrete... hopefully greenfield is able to recover
@YkCrimed22 сағат бұрын
Forgot to add, the parts where its just concrete is between 7:15 and 7:30

Have you talked about the Tuscaloosa tornado? It’s a very interesting topic that killed many people and went down in history it’s CRAZY. And it was in 2011

In May of 65 Minnesota had a small outbreak. The town of Fridley was hit by 2 tornadoes, one after the other like those in the Palm Sunday storms. My parents and I were living in Bloomington, MN at that time. When the Civil Defense sirens went off everyone went outside to find out what was going on. Since this was in middle of the Cold War first thought was we were under attack. Pop went for the radio and heard reports of tornadoes. We took shelter at a friend’s house because we didn’t have a basement. Maybe you could do a story on that outbreak.

Lol @ max winds of 170. I was following this on radar and in weather discord, multiple sources posted hard data indicating winds over 300 mph. Current system is badly flawed when they refuse live data in favor of damage estimates. There have been several monsters with winds over 300 mph since 2013, including Mayfield KY, Rolling Fork MS, etc.

It's kind of illuminating when you think about how far World War 2 drive technology. None of those early warning systems would have existed without the radar WW2 brought about.

You have successfully pissed off all the train nerds. That is likely a grain train not a coal train in Hallam that got hit. Especially because Hallam has multiple grain bins. 5:39

What is the furthest distance one can hear the (distinguishable)sound of a tornay during their peak strength? Can you be able to hear a ~180 mph tornay from a mile away? I'm from S.E.Asia, so never seen a tornay

Im jealous of americano They have the best of the best tornays in all of planet earth! and here in my Asian land there nothing to be seen Once in a lifetime is a rarity among men 😢 I just want ot witness the power of the wind😢 Personally my most serve wind ever exp. was ~50-60 mph when a tropical cyclone strike my city. and that's it. And here americanos witnessing wind of +100 and beyond, and some of them even over 200 mph! Insane My condolences go to those who died in tornays, that's why i just want to witness from afar, maybe if possible listen to the sound powerful ones exceeding 200mph make. Would not dare going within a mile of any of those things

I don't understand why you felt you had to get in front of it. Like you saw it. You caught it on camera. Why did you have to put yourself in the danger zone? I just don't get it. Why so MUCH risk tho? To me, it seem superfluous. Your life and safety always come first. Edit: oh crap!!! That big boy came out of nowhere on you!!! I understand a bit more about what happened. That's terrifying. Edit edit: i really hope you learned from this.
