Can you see the accuator arm from top of engine bay ? how did you determine it was for sure broken ?
@creativ8303 ай бұрын
Hey man! Hoping you're seeing this since it's been a few years since uploaded. Might be a dumb question but do you do anything to pressurize the system afterwards? Is it just a couple on and offs in accessory mode?

Ah crap I guess I should do mine and stop putting it off , 25 years over due , excellent video
@ZachQ-bx8hn4 ай бұрын
Same problem for me. I didn't need to remove the heat shield. T27 was the size for me. T25 started to strip. Placing a mirror behind the engine helped a lot with getting the clip off. I used one of those tiny electronics screwdrivers. My clip just fell through the car. I got the rod welded together at an exhaust shop for $20. Works as before. EPC light came off and I cleared the check engine light. 1 clip, 2 screws, and disconnecting the electrical connector.

@TraeNelsonScott when you got it recalibrated how did you go about that? I watched your video and was able to replace mine in 15 minutes on my 2017 jetta. E clip replacement for arm attachment is a 3/8 e clip. buy at any hardware store for 99 cents for 2 or 6.99 at any auto parts store. You do the math.

went to autozone used their scanner because of EPC light. The girl said its the Turbo and quoted me $ 1108.56 usd. Then I came across this video dug around the engine bay and saw the broken actuator. Dude You saved me a grip of cash!!! Thank you!! But it gets better. I went to a shop to have it replaced and when I showed up for my appointment a guy in a black BMW came in and stole my appointment. I said hey I had an appointment and the clerk and the BMW guy looked at me and totally ignored me. Right next door I saw a welding shop and asked how much to weld this arm together? The dude said 50 bucks cash only. I said Di it! I was ready to play over $500 usd to the Euro auto shop until they treated be like trash. I got home re-installed it in like 20 minuites and now the world is right!

I bought the car from a buddy of mine who bought it from some guys only was using it on the track. I’ll have to do a walk through and point out the goodies it has. Those drum weren’t original they been replaced plenty of times before me
