"Hello Bobby...Oh, sorry if I startled you. Yes, you know me, but this is the first time we met. Someone told me you come this cemetery at night to exercise with that guitar of yours, with no great results from what I heard. I'm something of a master myself, if it can be said so. I can teach some tricks for that guitar if you want. All the best have learned from me. I can give you the fame and recognition you seek so desperatly. I can make you one of the greatest. Of course, for a price..."

Like Keith Richards said when he first heard Johnson play, you think youre hearing two guitars when its really just one.

where can i download the sheet music or some attempt at it? a cheat sheet maybe? I remember, would you believe, 50 years ago, (!) I had a book of blues music had this in it. Lost long ago. Never been able to find it again. Don't even know what it was called. I know it had a tune called 'Keep that skillet good and greasy' in it which fifty years ago I thought was all about keeping your frying pan greased. Wish I could find it again. Anyway: cheat sheet for this maybe?

Big deal, sold his soul 2 the devil. At least he got something 4 it, in contrast 2 some silly souls we see today. Politics, music, etc.

I think saying he "sold his soul" to play like that is an insult to the obvious practice and playing he did.

His death...Maybe he had a heart attack after drinking one to many rotgut whisky,s. As for all that devil stuff...Well he may have of moved to another town. Listened to his influences intently and learnt what interested him and re-interperated them in his own way...What ever he was a great great guitarist and vocalist..There is also a Mexican influence in some of his work....Open G tuning was also known as Spanish tuning around New Orleans and elsewhere at that time.

Imagine that if this guy was never born, we would have never heard of something called rock and roll, the legend and the father of the Delta blues

I think ur wrong. Rock and roll were always to come out, it came from Blues and was destined to happen. That is my 5 cents. Any deal with "The Man in Charge" as Bob Dylan said- will end in eternal regret and pain

Such a misunderstood Legend. He went to the crossroads (fork in the road) and made a deal with the devil inside him.

When you add mysticism to your character, it attracts an audience. Imagine you’re living in small town where nothing exciting ever goes down. So the common folk create these tales to add a little “magic” into their lives. The reality is there’s was probably a lot of hard work and dedication to his craft that nobody saw. Most common people never pay attention to hard work. They only care about the results. So they create these tales or say things like “He got lucky” There is no luck and there is no shortcuts in life. Behind every great artist is endless hours of practice.

@@Lucaduka77 When you’re good at what you do, you attract all sorts of attention both good and bad. I’m no RJ nor am I a legend but… I once ran into an old highschool Friend at a party. I walked up and talked to her and later in the night her boyfriend tried to stab me with a pocket knife when she wasn’t around.
