I had the privilege of seeing and hearing Julian Bream perform these pieces live in the presence of William Walton himself in London in the 1970s. As an aside I even spoke with WW, He even held my hand. But that is, by the by. Since then I have heard many other performances, predominantly at the Wigmore Hall, and bought many recordings since . The performance in this video is outstanding. I am not an expert, just a music lover, but trust me, this performance is GOOD.

Sanel, you are welcome, but I am also flattered that you have responded quite so quickly. William Walton was in a wheelchair at the time, and I was sitting in the front row, and he was pushed by his carer to front of the stage we were at the same height. He spoke to me and I couldn’t believe my luck. A magical moment.

I think of the G-flat minor sonata transposed to A-minor. No doubt a marvellous performance of that version on the guitar.

From 10:00 onwards it seemed to me, as a layman, that Redzic used a transcription that was less faithful to Bach's original, for violin, than the one used by Segovia, and less beautiful. I randomly listened to two performances of the original violin version and confirmed this.

tellement beau... Quand on voit la tête de JSBAch on se demande d'où ça lui est sorti. Sûrement un don divin. A pleurer. A la guitare, et par un virtuose pareil, on reste estomaqué, flanqué, quasi mystiqué, ébahi, ébaudi, larmoyant, transpirant, ému.... bravo pour cette interprétation.
