Thank you for sharing, I just bought a 2016 FLRT . Like you bought the 3yr warranty esp. Already cashed in for $1,100 worth of brake work. Two new tires also . Now doing a stage 1 upgrade, jackpot header all stainless steel with wide band as an add choice for upgrades later. Fuelmoto acdc hi flow air cleaner (s&s). Vance Hines slipon. Down load power vision tune . For comfort , added 20 windshield with stainless steel trim, tallboy seat, super shox rear 14.5 inch shocks. For safety led head light and turn signals that are white running lights then yellow for turn . Rear LED with strob flashing. 700 cold cranking lithium ion battery. Bought three brand new rims to replace stock ones , they were so nasty and I couldn't even clean them up. The body had 15 chips and cash is through the paint. Spent weeks 4 to 5 coats base and 2coats clear sanding buffing out , it's not perfect by any means, but two hundred times better after the fact. The moral of the story is I saved this bike and made it my own . Just like you did yours . Its absolutely possible to get a great ride and rumble that puts a smile on your face mile after mile. Remember keep the wind between your knees.

Awesome to hear. Yup, there's nothing like it. Check out what I'm riding now. I had to downsize on weight but I made thiis 2016 Switchback my own!
@stratolestele7611Ай бұрын
That's good that you leveled your bike. I remember my first Harley was a Softail. I'm a short guy, plus the style back then was to lower your bike. I went the cheap route and just used a lowering kit. But I never lowered the front end. Learned my lesson. It handled like crap. It would kinda oscillate in fast sweepers. So it's a good reminder for anyone reading this - whenever you change the height of one end, do the same to the other end!
@dixieland5343Ай бұрын
I started with the lowering kit. Waste of time and money. Ride safe.
@billystout8500Ай бұрын
Instead of all that why not get a street glide or ultra
@dixieland5343Ай бұрын
I had an Ultra until last spring. I decided to down size because of the weight. The Switchback is 180 lbs. lighter. The batwing fairing and tour pack only added 20 lbs making the bike still a lot lighter. Believe me if I could have I would have bought a Street Glide but it would still have been too heavy. Still riding though!

What is the link to that tour pack light, I have a 2006 ultra classic and I can’t find any made for that year
@dixieland53435 ай бұрын
The bike is a 2016 Dyna Switchback. I bought the tour pack light on Amazon. I ran a 5 wire harness from the light and tapped into the rear fender harness under the seat. I used the small connectors that you squeeze with plyers. That way I didn't have to cut any wires.

My CVO came with almost all of the airflow accessories from HD. with the exception of the air cleaner, the derby cover and the small round cover they used to call a timing cover. I could only get them from HD so it cost me a few bucks to get them. I did get rid of the HD mirrors and bought the same mirrors you have which I'm happy with.
@dixieland53435 ай бұрын
Yeah my last bike had a different theme and all HD which did cost a lot more. I quite content with my choices today, Glad you like the mirrors, I won't go without them today.

I’ve had many kinds of Harley..the truth is anything mechanical is going to have issues..if you maintain it and don’t ride like a moron…it should be relatively failure free. Some require more attention.. if you own newer models with fuel injection and computer controlled systems.. generally there’s more to go wrong…those old Evo engines can’t be beat though!
