Because C418 was so incredibly influential to the feel of the game, all other composers unfortunately sound like they’re trying to copy him because if they did their own style it wouldn’t match as well. It was a huge mistake to kick out c418. And this again isn’t to hate on any of the composers. Lena Raine makes some fantastic songs and her work on the Minecraft soundtrack is great. But hers and along side all the others just sounds like they are trying to copy C418. And it was probably forced by Microsoft.

I think c418's charm comes from the old fashioned synths, weird samples, and the experimental style. It's classical instruments mixed with electrical and other sound effects. I think Lena Raine does a good job keeping that style. I think much of the reason why we love C418's music is because we've listened to it so much. Given time and appreciation, Minecraft's new music will become beloved, I have no doubt.

I admire creatives who have the boldness to change things around when they take over a project or make a sequel to their original project, rather than just trying to clone the original's success by doing the exact same thing. It's that kind of risk-taking that keeps projects alive and brings in a fresh audience. That said, I don't feel like any of Lena Raine's new tracks get me in the mood for Minecraft. When I pull up the game and I hear the new main menu music, it feels alien to me. C418's music was somehow both ambient and iconic, but the newer music just feels ambient and generic. The game is caught between trying to appeal to old players and trying to feel new at the same time and it ends up giving off the same "inoffensive", "corporatized" feeling that permeates modern entertainment. It doesn't feel like Microsoft has a grand plan for Minecraft, it just feels like they have ideas for things they could use the brand for that would increase interest. I feel like the revolving door of musicians is itself very reminiscent of Microsoft's approach with Minecraft's updates, merchandising, spin-offs, etc: throw a bunch of small stuff at the wall and see what sticks.

I think both fit minecraft. When C418 was around, minecraft was quite sinple, like his songs, And lena makes more complex music, in an age where minecraft is decently complex. I personally kinda have a softspot for her since she worked on celseste and deltarune but thats only cus i love the soundtracks of those games.

The music is just reverb. It isn't music. It's annoying. It's extremely unfair that c418 got thrown out and replaced with somebody who clearly doesn't understand how to make simple yet remembering music, the only reason why Minecraft hired this person, is all because she's trans. That's all It is to. Minecraft unfortunately wanted to be like everyone else. All because of Microsoft

Idk about anyone else but I absolutely hate videos that throw in a bunch of random narrators. Really takes you out of the video having to get used to different people over and over and over. Your video does the opposite of what the Minecraft music does.

I personally like Lena Raine's music more to be honest as it captures a fantasy vibes of minecraft with shaders. Unlike C418 his music it feels like a classic minecraft without shaders. My favorite music of C418 is the Aria Math.

i will say that while i do love c418’s music and prefer it 100% for the actual game music, i love raine’s discs. i mean.. it’s a music disc. you can choose whether to play it or not, plus it feels right for the place in which you find it-pigstep is so good

Me and my friends first heard Pigstep while playing RLCraft server. Let's just say there was a jukebox in almost every house of the village that we occupied and a pigstep disc for each person

The discs are kind of irrelevant bc they are just discs, and her music is too arcadey and rpg esque, her sound selection is another thing that pulls away from the survival sandbox game Minecraft was, kumi tanioka was the only one that actually got the c418 sound right, and nobody talks about it, it's almost a shame, I really hope to hear more from her
