I always wished after Joey lost to Kaiba that Joey would be semi down that he lost to Kaiba again but then Kaiba tells him it was a good duel and he has his respect. I guess when he invited Joey to the grand tournament of top 16 duelists in the world he basically told joey he respected him without actually telling him.

After the duel.. Yugi gives two blue eyes back to Kaiba.. Kaiba: “hey!! What kind of joke is this” Yugi: “and what about my blue eyes? The one you ripped mother f*ck3r?”

Yugi finally being able to use a Blue eyes since Kaiba destroyed the one that belonged to him

Here's how I think Joey's arc should have ended; In Dawn of the Duel, Bakura uses an apparition of Yami Marik to stall the team at some point in the story (probably before Yugi vs Bakura). Yugi tries to duel him but Joey insists that he face Marik for 3 important reasons; 1. So Yugi can find Atem's true name 2. To settle his score with mark from battle city. 3. To get revenge for Mai since it was Marik's sadism that drove Mai to joi9n Dartz's cult. Unlike their BC duel, Marik plays much more seriously since he knows Joey can beat him if he just toys with. At the climax Joey pulls a hat trick that blows Marik to smithereens, finally settles the score and proves he is one of the worlds greatest duelists.

God I remember watching this on YTV and every single time a new ep would air(Yugi had just started the duel with Peg), the next week the series we start all over again from ep 1. Was very infuriating
