I flew from Nashville to California mainly to see Al Green at this festival. I pushed myself to the front and it truly was a magical moment. As a musician, I’ve studied his records, and his band kept it true to the Hi Rhythm section that recorded them, and they couldn’t have done a better job. Al took that crowd to church, and it was the best live experience I’ve ever had. It’s something I’ll never forget.
