I had this movie on VHS growing up. For some reason when Chance says "What was that??", my sister told me that part scared her so badly when she was around the age of 4. I guess it must have been just the suspense of the whole thing
@TacoBellCheatDay2 ай бұрын
I too found that scary. For me the scariest part as a kid was every time Chance said "there's somethin' out there"

What Shadow is describing isn't a moose, but a wendigo

The growl is what scared me as a kid. I vaguely knew what elk and coyotoes sound like, but that low growl. Probably a forshadowing of what theyd encounter later in the movie.

I totally feel for Chance when he says: *"this place is spooky, I don't like it here. Gives me the creeps."* I was like, you're not the only one dude! Because watching this scene as a kid, like so many others, scared me. So much so, it kind of gave me a fear of camping in the woods at night. Especially, in woods like these where the trees are *massive* and you don't know what's hiding behind them. Or *in* them for that matter. And that creepy music didn't help either with what I was seeing or my folks telling me stories about bigfoot in the woods. I personally have never gone camping or been in the woods like this before. But, I would not want to be in their situation. It's funny how the tone completely changes here, then it continues on like nothing happened after that spooky night.

same here, watching this scene as a kid effectively killed any desire I had to go camping, this and Prophecy (1979) even as an adult, this scene gives me the chills..

Yup, I’ve done some hikes in the pitch black and it can be daunting, but the way to survive in the forest is to think like it.
@DMalltheway Жыл бұрын
@@spencermccarthy5157 What I mean is the mindset of surviving the forest is to be in charge of it while doing a tough hike or sleeping overnight on a tent with a fire as well as like it. Any ounce of fear will be sensed by predators if they’re out there.
