the noise you hear just before the coyotes start howlin, the moose noise, is actually an elk. its the mating call of an elk. they make this horrible noise during their mating season and its called a bugle. its a scary sound if you hear it at night, and it sounds like a whistle, and a scream at the same time. this scene always freaked me out as a kid. Hell im 26 years old and this scene still gives me the willies. LOL! what's a moose? more like a killer moose! haha!

this scene when I first seen it, I'll admit scared me I don't know why but I had a nervous feeling while watching it. probably cause I'm terrified of forests in the dark and what's out there
@B.W-k8k4 ай бұрын
@imagine778, Have you ever seen the popular horror film "THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT" (1999)? If the look of forests at nighttime scares you--not that I'm making fun of you for having such a fear--then you might not want to watch that movie, although it is very well-made. I even like the two sequels that most film critics and moviegoers who saw them during their respective theatrical releases didn't care for, "BOOK OF SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2" (2000) and Adam Wingard's "BLAIR WITCH" (2016). LIONSGATE and BLUMHOUSE are currently in the process of producing a fourth "BLAIR WITCH" movie. I do think that the brief tracking shot of the darkened forest with the almost bloodred-like look of the sky from the fading sun, the bluish-purple mist against the black trunks of the tall trees, and the dark ocean blue-black look of the ground in this scene from Disney's film adaptation of "HOMEWARD BOUND: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY" (1993), which is shown in this video at the time stamps between 0:12 to 0:14 is rather unsettling--especially when Chance says, "I'm tired and I'm hungry, and this place is spooky. I don't like it here" just before that shot begins. The dark can be scary, especially when you don't know what's looking in the shadows. What you can imagine is sometimes even more terrifying than what you might actually see. I guess that's why "THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT" is so effective for the people who like it.

I totally feel for Chance when he says: *"this place is spooky, I don't like it here. Gives me the creeps."* I was like, you're not the only one dude! Because watching this scene as a kid, like so many others, scared me. So much so, it kind of gave me a fear of camping in the woods at night. Especially, in woods like these where the trees are *massive* and you don't know what's hiding behind them. Or *in* them for that matter. And that creepy music didn't help either with what I was seeing or my folks telling me stories about bigfoot in the woods. I personally have never gone camping or been in the woods like this before. But, I would not want to be in their situation. It's funny how the tone completely changes here, then it continues on like nothing happened after that spooky night.
